If God Be For You

Romans 8:28 KJV And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

I was on my way to work one day and was also trying to connect to an ongoing ministerial training online  when I heard in my spirit “because God was with him…”
I began to have flashes of memories of events in my life that were inexplicable in themselves but evidenced divine supernatural assistance.

Romans 8:30-33 KJV Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. ³¹ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? ³² He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

The truth is that I would not be alive today, let alone completed my university education, nor have a glorious marriage, nor become a father, nor progress in my career, nor be established on the path of my divine destiny if not for the reason that God was and is still with me. Glory be to God.

A biblical character that highlighted explicitly what it means for God to be with a man was Joseph (Read Genesis 37, 39-45).

Joseph had a picture of his future revealed to him in dreams. He saw himself as a respected and revered royalty. He even saw that all his brothers and parent bowed down to him. Wow! But understand this, Joseph was not a prince nor was he from a royal family. What he saw in his dreams were just sweet imaginations if compared to his then current reality. However, there was something about Joseph that made his brothers to not think his dreams mere foolishness, there was a distinguishing factor that made his father not to totally discount the narration of his dreams as just child’s play. There must have been a sure sign upon Joseph that God was with him.

“Truth: The evidence of the presence of God in a man’s life cannot be hidden”.

The destination of a person backed by God is sure. However an unshakeable faith and perseverance is required not just for such to keep pleasing God but to also help keep him or her focus on following the path of divine destiny and to successfully resist the devil everytime. The devil is a relentless enemy of…but powerless against a man or woman who is divinely assisted.

Although not recorded and may be because of Joseph’s unique disposition towards God… the insignificant frequency of possibly troubling thoughts going through his mind during his varied ordeals:

1. His own blood brothers kidnapped him, planned to kill him and then sold him into slavery. Because God was with him?

2. Despite being an excellent and loyal steward he was framed, falsely accused and then thrown in the prison with no plan nor hope of someone bailing him out nor the chance to appeal. He however became a trusted and prominent prisoner. Because God was with Him.

3. He interpreted dreams accurately to royal officials. Asked one to remember him when he gets out of the prison and  to say him well to Pharaoh so the he (Joseph) may also be released. But the royal official forgot. Because God was with him?

4. Pharaoh had a dream. The dream was so terrible that it bothered him a great deal and none could interprete it. The once imprisoned royal official remembered Joseph. Mentioned him to Pharaoh. He was brought before Pharaoh. He interpreted accurately and even had a longterm solution to the forecasted problem. He was made 2nd in command to Pharaoh. Because God was with him.

Glory be to God Almighty Joseph’s dreams became a reality. He was not just any royalty that men must bow to, he was the saviour of his family and his people.

I will diverge a little just to highlight some things to us: let us note that every step that Joseph took was ordered by God. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way (Psalm 37:23 KJV). Every experience he went through was divinely designed to lead him onto the greater things of destiny: consider these:
– if Joseph had stayed with his family, he would have been in the wrong location faraway from where his destiny was to be fulfilled. He had to be relocated.
– if Joseph did not end up in Portiphar’s house and framed and imprisoned, he would never had met the royalty that he interpreted a dream for. Who after having had a first hand experience of how accurately Joseph can interpret a dream, was bold and confident enough to recommended Joseph to Pharaoh in due course of time.

God is not man that he should lie. What God showed Joseph in a dream became a reality but the becoming a reality was a matter entrusted to God. Joseph did not fight the process but remained faithful to God all through.

God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
Numbers 23:19 NLT

God is a promise keeper. He will not show you what he lacks ability to bring you into. He will not tell you what He cannot bring to past. But we have the choice to align or not with His perfect will, to get on the path of our destiny in Him or not. We have the choice to stay with Him on the divine path or to defect.

God indeed was with Joseph but Joseph made up his mind to stay with God. He could have chosen another path, decided to be an unfaithful steward or looked for a way out of his seemingly uncomfortable existence by sleeping with Portiphar’s wife. Sadly, this is how some have cut short their divine destiny by going after the alternative. Men destined to be lord and master in the plan of God but ending up as destitutes.

“It is those who endure in righteousness and faithfulness to the end that will have their God given dreams made a reality”.

“Your God given dreams are possible if God is with you”. However your journey into your divine destiny begins when you become born-again and are vitally linked to the body of Christ.

I need Jesus and you need Jesus. I have asked Jesus into my heart and He has changed my life through salvation and His Lordship. I am experiencing my God given dreams becoming a reality daily. I am existing in the realm of divine possibilities.

Jesus can usher you like he did me into same existence of eternal possibilities and a life of dreams becoming a reality.

It is true that there is no other name given to man by which they can be saved but “Jesus”.
…there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].”
ACTS 4:12 AMP

Salvation through Christ Jesus is free but you must make the decision to recieve it.

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 NLT

“…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”.
Romans 10:9‭-‬10 KJV

If are you are yet to be born-again and you would like to be. Pray this prayer meaningfully: “Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Saviour. Amen”.

Congratulations if you’ve just said that prayer and I joyously welcome you to the higher life in Christ Jesus. You are now on the path of your divine destiny and your God given dreams are very possible.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
