Scripture Focus:
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
— Isaiah 60:1 (NIV)

A Prophetic Word Wrapped in a Mother’s Blessing
This was the word my biological mother, Pastor Roseline Bella, sent to me on my birthday — a message of love, life, and light:
“Happy Birthday Pastor. May the Lord bless you mightily, make His countenance to shine upon you and give you rest on every side. May the anointing of God continue to overflow in your life and make you continuously relevant in the kingdom of God and globally in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Good health, a sound mind, divine guidance, divine wisdom and favour from God and man are your lots in Jesus name. Please enjoy your day. Isaiah 60:1.”
This blessing came as a confirmation of what God had already declared through my mother in the Lord, Rev. Oyenike Areogun, from John 10:10 — “Life in its fullness until you overflow.”
Now the Father adds: “Arise, shine…”
When a biological mother and a spiritual mother both release words of light and overflow, heaven is making an announcement.
The Power in the Word “Arise”

Let’s explore Isaiah 60:1 across several Bible versions and see how the Spirit of God enlarges the revelation:
🔹 Amplified Classic (AMPC)
“Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!”
The AMPC expands the word “arise” into action: “Rise from the depression and prostration…” This is not a passive rising; it’s a call to break limitations, step out of shadows, and walk in the divine elevation that accompanies revelation.
🔹 The Passion Translation (TPT)
“Rise up in splendor and be radiant, for your light has dawned, and Yahweh’s glory now streams from you!”
The TPT brings the poetic heart of the verse to life — “streams from you.”
The glory is not only upon you; it is now flowing from you.
When the light of Christ rises within, it becomes a stream of illumination to others.
🔹 New Living Translation (NLT)
“Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you.”
Here the emphasis is on visibility — “for all to see.”
Glory is never meant to be hidden. When the Lord’s glory shines on you, it is to manifest His goodness publicly.
🔹 The Message (MSG)
“Get out of bed, Jerusalem! Wake up. Put your face in the sunlight. God’s bright glory has risen for you.”
Eugene Peterson’s paraphrase makes it sound like a morning call from heaven: “Wake up!”
Sometimes the prophetic word is not about acquiring something new but about awakening to what’s already yours.
🔹 King James Version (KJV)
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.”
The timeless rhythm of the KJV keeps it simple yet eternal:
Two instructions — arise and shine.
Two reasons — your light has come and God’s glory has risen.
The Light Has Come
This verse is not just about light appearing in the sky; it’s about light entering your life.
When God says “Your light has come,” it means:
Your time has come. Your assignment is entering manifestation. Your season of obscurity is ending. Your visibility in destiny begins.
And when His glory rises upon you, it means that divine presence becomes your signature.
The Connection Between “Arise” and “Overflow”
In John 10:10, Jesus said, “I came that you may have life… until you overflow.”
In Isaiah 60:1, He says, “Arise, shine…”
Together, they form a prophetic sequence:
Overflow brings illumination. Illumination produces manifestation. Manifestation becomes relevance in the Kingdom and globally.
My mother’s prayer aligns perfectly with heaven’s rhythm: that the anointing will continue to overflow and make me relevant — locally, globally, and eternally.
What It Means to “Shine”
To shine is to reflect His nature.
Just as the moon reflects the light of the sun, we reflect the glory of the Son.
You shine through wisdom that blesses others. You shine through excellence in service. You shine through the anointing that destroys yokes. You shine through love that draws men to Christ.
When the glory rises upon you, no darkness can withstand it.

My Confession
Lord, thank You for this Word of life.
I arise in Your strength and shine with Your glory.
The light of Your presence radiates through me to bless others.
I step into new relevance, new anointing, new grace.
My life overflows with Your wisdom, favour, and divine health.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Conclusion
Isaiah 60:1 is a birthday decree, a destiny call, and a kingdom mandate.
It’s heaven’s reminder that your light is no longer coming — it has come.
So rise in splendour, shine with purpose, and overflow in glory.
“The Divine and the Good will multiply X10 in your life.”
— and now, that multiplication will shine for all to see.
