Who Would You Like to Talk to Soon? A Christian Perspective

Who would you like to talk to soon?

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to overlook the profound importance of our conversations. These dialogues, whether with God, family, or those God places in our path, are opportunities to share love, wisdom, and encouragement. So, who would I like to talk to soon? The answer begins with the One who is the source of all wisdom and love: God.

1. Talking to God in Prayer

The first Person I want to talk to is God. Prayer is the lifeline of our spiritual journey, a direct line of communication with our Heavenly Father. In Jeremiah 33:3, God invites us to connect with Him: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” (KJV). Through prayer, we pour out our hearts, seek guidance, and find comfort in His presence.

Talking to God in prayer is more than a routine; it’s an intimate conversation where we express our gratitude, confess our sins, and intercede for others. It’s where we align our will with His, drawing strength and wisdom for our daily walk. As Psalm 145:18 reminds us, “The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth” (KJV). God is always near, ready to listen and respond to our sincere prayers.

2. Talking to My Wife and Children

After communing with God, the next conversations I cherish are with my wife and children. Family is a precious gift from God, and maintaining open, loving communication is vital. Ephesians 5:25 calls husbands to love their wives just as Christ loved the church: “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it” (KJV). This love is expressed through our words, actions, and unwavering support.

Similarly, talking to my children is an opportunity to guide, nurture, and affirm them. Proverbs 22:6 instructs, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (KJV). Conversations with our children help instill godly values, build their faith, and assure them of our unwavering love.

3. Talking to Others God Places in My Path

Beyond my immediate family, I feel called to speak with everyone God places in my path, sharing the words He has given me for them. Colossians 4:6 encourages us to let our speech “be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man” (KJV). Our interactions should reflect God’s love, offering encouragement, wisdom, and hope.

Whether it’s a friend in need, a coworker seeking advice, or a stranger crossing my path, every conversation is an opportunity to be God’s instrument of blessing. By listening actively, speaking kindly, and sharing scriptural truths, we can impact lives for Christ. As 1 Peter 3:15 exhorts, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (KJV). Our readiness to speak words of life can lead others to the hope found in Jesus.

Conclusion

In answering the question, “Who would you like to talk to soon?” my heart is drawn first to God, then to my family, and finally to everyone God entrusts to my care. Each conversation, whether in prayer or with loved ones, is an opportunity to reflect God’s love and wisdom. As we prioritize our dialogues, let’s remember to start with the divine, extend to our family, and reach out to the world with the grace and truth of Christ. In doing so, we fulfil our calling to be His ambassadors, sharing His love in every word we speak.
