When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?
“I Always Knew… But I Didn’t Fully Understand”
When I was five years old, I didn’t dream of becoming famous.
I didn’t obsess over titles, money, or applause.
If I search deep within my earliest memories, there was something quieter… yet stronger.
A pull.
A knowing.
A whisper I couldn’t explain.
Even as a child, I knew — somehow — that my life was meant to serve God.
The Call You Don’t Learn — You Remember
Some people discover purpose later in life.
But there are others… who recognise it.
It doesn’t come as a loud announcement.
It comes as a gentle but persistent tug on your heart.
📖 Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV)
“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
That scripture explains what I couldn’t explain as a child.
It wasn’t imagination.
It wasn’t coincidence.
It was ordination before awareness.
The Delay Many of Us Regret
Here is the honest truth…
I only wish I had responded sooner.
Because purpose doesn’t wait for convenience.
And destiny doesn’t pause while we “figure life out.”
There were years where that inner pull was present…
but not fully obeyed.
Years where I knew, but didn’t fully yield.
📖 Ecclesiastes 12:1 (KJV)
“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not…”
The tragedy is not that God didn’t call.
The tragedy is when we delay responding.
The Mercy of God in Calling Us Again
Yet, here is the beauty of God…
He doesn’t cancel the call because of delay.
He calls again.
And again.
And again.
📖 Romans 11:29 (KJV)
“For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”
That pull you feel?
It’s not leaving.
That restlessness?
It’s not accidental.
That dissatisfaction with “ordinary life”?
It’s divine.
What If That Feeling You Have… Is God?
Let me say something that may hit you deeply:
👉 That thing you’ve been feeling since you were young…
👉 That unexplainable sense that “there is more”…
👉 That resistance to settling for just survival…
It may not be confusion.
It may be God calling you.
It’s Not Too Late — But Don’t Delay Again
Whether you’re 15, 25, 45, or 65…
The question is not: “Did I miss it?”
The real question is: “Will I respond now?”
📖 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)
“…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
Not tomorrow.
Not when things are easier.
Not when everything makes sense.
Now.
Final Thought
When I was five… I knew.
I didn’t understand it.
I couldn’t explain it.
But I knew.
And today, I’ve come to realise:
That knowing was not childish imagination.
It was divine direction.
If you feel it too…
Don’t ignore it.
Because some voices fade with time.
But the voice of God?
It only grows stronger.
🔥 If this stirred something in you, don’t scroll past it. Sit with it. Pray about it. Respond to it.
