How has technology changed your job?
When I think about how technology has changed my job, I realise something profound:
It has not just made my work easier — it has made my work more meaningful.
Technology has redefined what I do, how I do it, and most importantly, why I do it.
1. My Job Is No Longer Limited to a Location
There was a time when work was confined to a desk, an office, or a physical environment.
Now, through technology:
I can work from anywhere I can communicate instantly I can influence beyond my immediate environment
But beyond convenience, I began to see something deeper:
My job is no longer just a place I go to — it is a platform God has given me.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” — Ephesians 2:10 (KJV)
Technology didn’t change my assignment —
it expanded the scope of it.
2. My Voice Now Travels Further Than My Physical Presence
In the past, impact was limited to who could physically hear you.
Today:
A message can be shared instantly A thought can reach across continents Encouragement can be delivered in real time
This has changed how I see my daily work.
Whether through:
Emails Messages Digital platforms
I now recognise that every interaction carries influence.
Technology has taught me that:
my voice is not small — it is scalable.
3. My Work Has Become a Channel for the Gospel
Here is the most important shift:
Technology has made it easier to integrate faith with function.
I no longer see a separation between:
“Work life” “Spiritual life”
Because through technology:
I can share truth
I can encourage someone instantly
I can point people to Christ without waiting for a “church setting”
Jesus said:
“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” — Mark 16:15 (KJV)
Today, “the world” includes:
Digital spaces
Online platforms
Everyday communication channels
My job has become part of that mission field.
4. Technology Has Increased My Responsibility
With greater access comes greater accountability.
I can no longer say:
“I don’t have the opportunity.”
Because now:
I have access to people
I have tools to communicate
I have platforms to share
“Unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required…” — Luke 12:48 (KJV)
Technology has made my job more visible…
But it has also made my impact more measurable before God.
5. I’ve Had to Grow — Not Just Digitally, But Spiritually
Technology evolves quickly.
Systems update.
Tools change.
Expectations increase.
But I’ve realised something critical:
If I only grow technologically and not spiritually, I will miss the purpose of it all.
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost… he shall teach you all things…” — John 14:26 (KJV)
Technology helps me work better.
The Holy Spirit helps me work right.
6. My Job Is Now a Strategic Kingdom Position
I no longer see my job as ordinary.
Because through technology:
I can reach people I may never meet
I can influence lives beyond my role description
I can carry God’s presence into digital spaces
“Let your light so shine before men…” — Matthew 5:16 (KJV)
That “men” now includes people:
Across cities
Across nations
Across platforms
Final Reflection
So, how has technology changed my job?
It has:
Expanded my reach
Amplified my voice
Increased my responsibility
Deepened my understanding of purpose
But more than anything…
It has shown me that my job is not just work — it is ministry.
Closing Charge
Technology is not just a tool for productivity.
It is a tool for eternity.
Use it wisely.
Use it intentionally.
Use it for the Gospel.
Because at the end of the day:
The greatest success is not how efficient you became…
but how many lives were touched through you.
