A Deep Exposition of Covenant Lineage, Spiritual Formation, and Destiny Fulfilment
Text:
“Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.” — Isaiah 51:2 (KJV)
1. THE PROPHETIC WEIGHT OF THIS INSTRUCTION
When Isaiah delivered this word, Israel was in a season of desolation, confusion, and identity loss.
God did not give them:
A new prophecy
A new miracle
A new system
Instead, He gave them a direction of focus:
“LOOK.”
From a Hebrew concordance standpoint:
Look (נָבַט – nabat)
➤ To gaze with sustained attention until revelation is formed
➤ To consider with intent to imitate
This means:
God was not asking them to admire Abraham—He was asking them to study a pattern for replication.
2. ABRAHAM: THE PROTOTYPE OF COVENANT DESTINY
From a Bible dictionary perspective, Abraham is:
“The father of the faithful; the original recipient of covenant promise through whom God established a generational pattern.”
The Divine Sequence in the Text:
(1) “I CALLED HIM” — QARA
To summon into divine purpose To separate from the ordinary
📖 Genesis 12:1
“Get thee out… unto a land that I will shew thee.”
➡️ Calling always precedes clarity.
(2) “I BLESSED HIM” — BARAK
To empower for fruitfulness To release divine enablement
📖 Genesis 12:2
“I will bless thee… and thou shalt be a blessing.”
➡️ Blessing is not money—it is divine capacity working through a man.
(3) “I INCREASED HIM” — RABAH
To multiply beyond limitation To expand influence, seed, and impact
📖 Genesis 22:17
“In blessing I will bless thee… in multiplying I will multiply thy seed…”
➡️ Increase is the visible outcome of an invisible covenant.
3. WHY GOD INCLUDED SARAH: THE MYSTERY OF SPIRITUAL FORMATION
“…and unto Sarah that bare you…”
This is doctrinally critical.
From biblical theology:
Abraham = Covenant Carrier
Sarah = Covenant Incubator
Sarah represents:
The environment that nurtures destiny The system that forms what God has called
📖 Hebrews 11:11
“Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed…”
➡️ What Abraham carried, Sarah processed and produced.
God’s instruction reveals a law:
Destiny is not self-generated—it is transmitted through alignment.
This is why Scripture says:
📖 Hebrews 13:7
“Remember them which have the rule over you… whose faith follow…”
📖 1 Corinthians 4:15
“For though ye have ten thousand instructors… yet have ye not many fathers…”
5. THE TRAGEDY OF THIS GENERATION
Many believers today:
Want Abraham’s blessing But reject Abraham’s structure
They want:
Increase without covering
Results without discipleship
Destiny without fathering
But God’s system has never changed:
No father → No formation → No full manifestation
6. THE PRESENT-DAY EXPRESSION OF THIS SCRIPTURE
God still raises Abrahams and Sarahs in every generation.

To “look” is not passive. It involves:

Position yourself under divine order
3. Imitation
Adopt their faith patterns
4. Consistency
Stay long enough for formation to occur
8. WHY MANY DESTINIES FAIL
Not because God did not call them…
But because they refused to be formed.
They:
Jump from place to place
Resist correction
Avoid structure
And so:
Gifts remain raw
Calling remains unclear
Destiny remains aborted
9. CHURCH: GOD’S SYSTEM FOR RAISING DESTINY
Church is not:
A weekly gathering A social space
It is:
God’s ordained system for fathering, mothering, and forming destinies
It is where:
Doctrine shapes you
Correction refines you
Relationships strengthen you
Grace flows into you
10. THE CALL TO ACTION: YOU MUST BE PLANTED
“They that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish…” — Psalm 92:13
You cannot “look” from a distance.
You must be planted within the system.
