Who is the most confident person you know?
“The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.” — Bible, Proverbs 28:1 (KJV)
When someone asks, “Who is the most confident person you know?”, most people immediately think of a successful entrepreneur, a charismatic leader, or a public figure who appears fearless before crowds.
But the Bible gives a surprising answer.
The most confident person on earth is the righteous person.
Not necessarily the richest.
Not necessarily the most talented.
Not necessarily the loudest voice in the room.
According to Scripture, the righteous are as bold as a lion.

This boldness is not personality-driven confidence.
It is God-rooted confidence.
Understanding Biblical Boldness
The Hebrew word translated bold in Proverbs 28:1 carries the idea of security, firmness, and fearless assurance.
It describes a person who is not shaken by circumstances because their life is anchored in God.
A lion does not constantly look over its shoulder to see if it belongs in the jungle.
It knows its place in the ecosystem.

Likewise, the righteous person knows:
Who they belong to Who stands behind them Who fights for them
This produces unshakeable confidence.
The boldness of the righteous is not arrogance—it is assurance.
Why the Wicked Run but the Righteous Stand

The first part of Proverbs 28:1 reveals an important contrast:
“The wicked flee when no man pursueth…”
Guilt produces fear.
A life that is disconnected from God often carries an invisible burden—a troubled conscience.
Even when no one is chasing them, the wicked run because:
Sin produces insecurity Guilt weakens courage Disobedience removes spiritual covering
But the righteous stand differently.
Not because they are perfect—but because they are right with God.
The Source of the Righteous Person’s Confidence
True Christian confidence does not come from self-belief.
It comes from three spiritual realities.

1. Righteousness Changes Your Standing Before God
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— Romans 5:1 (KJV)
The believer stands before God justified—declared righteous through Christ.
This removes condemnation.
A person who knows they are accepted by God can face life without fear.
2. Righteousness Changes Your Authority
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
Righteousness restores spiritual authority.
The believer is no longer intimidated by circumstances, demons, or opposition.
Like David before Goliath, the righteous can say:
“The battle is the Lord’s.” — 1 Samuel 17:47 (KJV)
3. Righteousness Changes Your Perspective
When you know God is with you, your outlook changes.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
— Psalm 27:1 (KJV)
Fear shrinks when faith rises.
The righteous person does not deny problems—they simply know God is bigger than them.
Biblical Examples of Lion-Like Boldness

Throughout Scripture we see ordinary people displaying extraordinary courage because they walked with God.
Daniel
Daniel continued praying openly even when it meant being thrown into a lions’ den (Daniel 6).
David
David confronted Goliath while trained soldiers ran in fear (1 Samuel 17).
The Apostles
After persecution, the apostles prayed for more boldness—not protection.
“Grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word.”
— Acts 4:29 (KJV)
The result?
“They were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
— Acts 4:31 (KJV)
The Lion Mentality of the Righteous
A lion does not need permission to roar.
In the same way, the righteous do not live timid lives.
They:
Speak truth when others remain silent Stand for righteousness when compromise is popular Obey God even when it is costly
Their confidence comes from knowing they are walking with God.
How Believers Lose Their Boldness
Even believers sometimes lose spiritual confidence.
This usually happens when:
Fellowship with God weakens
Sin is tolerated
Identity in Christ is forgotten
But the solution is simple.
Return to God.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
— 1 John 1:9 (KJV)
Restored fellowship restores boldness.
The Bold Church the World Needs
The world today does not need timid believers.
It needs lion-hearted Christians who:
preach the gospel without apology live holy lives without compromise demonstrate faith without fear
The early church transformed the world because they understood one truth:
When you are right with God, you can stand before anything.
So, Who Is the Most Confident Person You Know?
The answer may surprise you.
It is not the loudest voice.
It is not the most famous name.
The most confident person on earth is the one who knows they are right with God.
Because when a person walks in righteousness,
they become as bold as a lion.
