The Best Gifts I Have Ever Received

Share one of the best gifts you’ve ever received.

When I think about the best gifts I have ever received, my mind doesn’t go first to material things or memorable moments—though those have their place. The greatest gifts of my life are spiritual, eternal, and life-defining. They are gifts that continue to give, shape, and sustain me every single day.

The Gift of Salvation

The first and greatest gift I have ever received is salvation through Jesus Christ.

There was a moment when I realised that no amount of good intentions, effort, or religious activity could fix the separation between humanity and God. Salvation came as a revelation of grace—unearned, undeserved, yet freely given.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8)

Salvation gave me forgiveness where guilt once lived, peace where fear once ruled, and a new identity rooted in Christ. I was not just rescued from sin—I was brought into a relationship with God as my Father. That alone would have been more than enough.

But God did not stop there.

The Gift of the Holy Spirit

One of the greatest gifts I have ever received after salvation is the gift of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

Jesus promised this gift, not for a select few, but for all believers:

“And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever.” (John 14:16)

The baptism of the Holy Spirit brought power, intimacy, and depth to my walk with God. Speaking in tongues strengthened my spirit, enriched my prayer life, and connected me to God beyond the limits of human language (1 Corinthians 14:2,4). It was not just an experience—it was an empowerment for living and service.

The Gifts of the Spirit

Flowing from the Holy Spirit are the gifts of the Spirit—wisdom, knowledge, faith, healings, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:7–11).

These gifts are expressions of God’s love and power at work in and through believers. They remind us that Christianity is not merely a confession of faith, but a demonstration of the life of God. Through these gifts, lives are healed, hearts are restored, and Jesus is glorified.

An Indescribable Collection of Gifts

The Bible says it perfectly:

“Thanks be unto God for His indescribable gift.” (2 Corinthians 9:15)

Salvation gave me eternal life.

The Holy Spirit gave me power and intimacy.

The gifts of the Spirit gave me usefulness and impact.

Together, these are the best gifts I have ever received—and they continue to unfold as I walk with God daily.

A Gift for You Too

These gifts are not exclusive. They are available to you today.

If you would like to receive the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, pray this sincerely from your heart:

Salvation Prayer

Father God, I come to You in the name of Jesus.

I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself.

I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again for my justification.

I repent of my sins and receive Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.

Wash me with His blood, make me a new creation, and give me eternal life.

I declare that Jesus is Lord over my life.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, you have just received the greatest gift of all—salvation. The Holy Spirit and the fullness of God’s purpose are next on that journey.

An Invitation to Fellowship

I warmly invite you to grow in your faith and experience the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit in fellowship at Dream Centre of the Life Oasis International Church—a place where lives are transformed by the Word of God and the move of the Spirit.

The best gifts I have ever received came from God. And the beautiful truth is this: those same gifts are available to you—today.
