What is something others do that sparks your admiration?
Admiration, when rightly understood, is never shallow. It is a mirror of values. What moves you reveals what governs you. What stirs your heart exposes what your spirit recognises as eternal.
In a world obsessed with visibility, what sparks my admiration most is uncelebrated obedience to God.
Not performance.
Not popularity.
But faithfulness when it costs something.
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV)
1. Admiration for Those Who Obey God in Secret
I admire believers who obey God when no one is there to affirm them. People who say “yes” to God in moments where disobedience would never be exposed.
Joseph had no audience in Potiphar’s house. Yet heaven was watching.
“How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
— Genesis 39:9 (KJV)
True admiration is provoked by integrity that survives isolation.
God builds destinies in secret places before unveiling them publicly.
2. Admiration for Perseverance Under Pressure
I admire Christians who continue trusting God when life appears unfair, prayers seem unanswered, and obedience feels unrewarded.
“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.”
— Job 13:15 (KJV)
This level of faith does not come from emotional Christianity—but from revelation-rooted conviction.
Anyone can praise God when things are working.
But it takes spiritual depth to stand when everything is shaking.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
3. Admiration for Christlike Character in a Compromised Generation
I admire those who refuse to dilute their faith to fit culture.
Men and women who are gentle without being weak, bold without being arrogant, loving without compromising truth.
“Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
— Romans 12:2 (KJV)
Character is the loudest sermon a Christian will ever preach.
Platforms may amplify gifts, but only character sustains destiny.
4. Admiration Reveals God’s Call on Your Life
What you admire in others is often what God intends to reproduce in you.
“Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”
— Philippians 4:9 (KJV)
Admiration is not meant to end in observation—it is meant to lead to imitation.
God uses visible lives to invite us into deeper dimensions of Himself.
5. The Ultimate Admiration: Jesus Christ
Above all, our admiration must return to Christ.
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 2:5 (KJV)
Jesus admired nothing the world admires—yet Heaven exalted Him.
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.”
— Philippians 2:9 (KJV)
If your admiration stops short of Christ, it will eventually disappoint you.
A Call to Self-Examination
Ask yourself honestly:
What kind of life stirs my admiration? Does it align with Scripture? Is it shaping me toward Christ—or away from Him?
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith.”
— 2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV)
✝️ A Call to Salvation
If this message has stirred your heart, it may be because God is drawing you to Himself.
Christianity is not admiration of good people—it is transformation through Christ.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23 (KJV)
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8 (KJV)
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
— Romans 10:9 (KJV)
Salvation Prayer
If you desire to surrender your life to Jesus, pray sincerely:
“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner.
I believe that You died for my sins and rose again.
I repent of my sins and ask You to forgive me.
Come into my heart.
Be my Lord and my Saviour.
I surrender my life to You today.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
If you prayed this prayer genuinely, you are now saved.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
