Introduction
It is common to hear people say, “We are all children of God.” While God is truly the Creator of all mankind, the Bible draws a clear line between creation and sonship.
Creation gives us existence.
Sonship gives us relationship, identity, authority, and inheritance.
According to Scripture, God becomes your Father only when you receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
1. God Is Creator of All — But Father Only to the Redeemed

God created every human being.
Genesis 1:27 (KJV)
“So God created man in his own image…”
However, Jesus Himself corrected the idea that creation equals fatherhood.
John 8:42 (KJV)
“If God were your Father, ye would love me…”
God’s Fatherhood is covenantal, not biological.
John 1:12–13 (KJV)
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God…”
2. Sonship Comes Through the New Birth

Sin separated mankind from God.
Isaiah 59:2 (KJV)
“Your iniquities have separated between you and your God…”
Jesus came to restore what Adam lost—sonship.
Galatians 4:4–6 (KJV)
“God sent forth his Son… that we might receive the adoption of sons.”
The Privileges of Sonship Through Christ Jesus

When you accept Jesus Christ, you receive legal, spiritual, and eternal privileges that are not available outside of Him.
1. The Right to Call God “Father”

Through Christ, believers have intimate access to God.
Romans 8:15 (KJV)
“Ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”
“Abba” is the language of intimacy—not distance or fear.
2. Acceptance and Belonging in God’s Family
No believer is a spiritual orphan.
Ephesians 1:5–6 (KJV)
“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children… to the praise of the glory of his grace.”
You belong.
You are wanted.
You are accepted in Christ.
3. Access to God’s Presence Without Fear

Sons do not beg; they approach boldly.
Hebrews 4:16 (KJV)
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace…”
Access replaces separation.
4. Divine Inheritance

Sons are heirs—not spectators.
Romans 8:17 (KJV)
“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ…”
This includes:
Eternal life Kingdom authority Kingdom rewards
5. The Indwelling Holy Spirit
God does not merely watch over His sons—He lives in them.
Galatians 4:6 (KJV)
“God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts…”
The Spirit confirms sonship, gives guidance, and produces Christlikeness.
6. Discipline, Not Condemnation
God corrects sons—but does not reject them.
Hebrews 12:6–7 (KJV)
“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth…”
Discipline is proof of relationship.
7. Authority in Christ

Sons carry the Father’s authority.
Luke 10:19 (KJV)
“Behold, I give unto you power… over all the power of the enemy…”
Authority flows from identity.
8. Love That Cannot Be Broken
Sonship is secure.
Romans 8:38–39 (KJV)
“Nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God…”
9. Glory and Likeness to Christ
Sonship ends in glorification.
1 John 3:2 (KJV)
“Now are we the sons of God… we shall be like him.”
10. Family Citizenship and Kingdom Identity
Believers are citizens of God’s household.
Ephesians 2:19 (KJV)
“Of the household of God.”
Jesus: The Only Way to Sonship
Without Christ:
God is Creator God is Judge God is Ruler
Through Christ:
God becomes Father You become a son Heaven becomes your inheritance
John 14:6 (KJV)
“No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
A Call to Salvation
If God is your Creator but not yet your Father, today is your day.

Salvation Prayer
Pray sincerely:
“Lord Jesus,
I believe You are the Son of God.
I confess my sins and repent.
I believe You died for me and rose again.
I receive You as my Lord and Saviour.
I receive adoption as a child of God.
From today, God is my Father.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
