What Is Your Reason for Not Doing Better? — A Biblical Call to Choose Life
“I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” — Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)
Introduction: An Uncomfortable but Necessary Question
What is your reason for not doing better?
This is not a question asked to condemn, but one meant to awaken. Scripture repeatedly calls men and nations to reflection. God never deals with humanity in ignorance alone; He deals with us in light versus response to light.
You have heard.
You have seen.
You have learned why those before you failed—through their ignorance, rebellion, negligence, and refusal to obey truth.
So why walk the same path?

Why insist on a trajectory that Scripture itself calls the path of destruction?
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” — Proverbs 14:12 (KJV)
Lessons Ignored Are Lessons Repeated
One of the greatest biblical tragedies is not lack of information but refusal to learn.
Israel saw Egypt destroyed yet murmured in the wilderness.
Solomon warned about folly yet lived foolishly in old age.
Judas walked with Truth Himself yet chose betrayal.
“Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition.” — 1 Corinthians 10:11 (KJV)
Failure is not always caused by lack of opportunity. Often, it is caused by disregard for instruction.
Beyond Humanism: The Reality of Spiritual Forces
Modern thought often reduces everything to human psychology, social structures, or biology alone. While science explains many aspects of the physical and mental, Scripture makes it clear that there is more at play.
The Bible reveals two operating forces in the world:
The Divine Force — God’s light, truth, love, and redemption The Demonic Force — satan’s rebellion, deception, destruction, and hatred for God

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” — Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
Denial, Ignorance, Rejection, and Pretense
Human responses to spiritual reality fall into familiar patterns:
Ignorance — “I didn’t know” Denial — “It doesn’t exist” Rejection — “I don’t accept it” Pretense — “I know, but I’ll ignore it”
Yet denial does not cancel reality.
Occultism reveals the intentional operation of demonic power.
Crime reveals its destructive fruit.
The global persecution and genocide of Christians reveal its hatred for the divine image of God.
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” — John 10:10a (KJV)
This hatred is not ideological—it is spiritual.
Why Darkness Persists: The Rejection of Light

Scripture explains clearly why evil continues unchecked: light is resisted.
“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” — John 3:19 (KJV)
Until the Divine Force is wholeheartedly welcomed, the demonic force will continue to exploit darkness, ignorance, and rebellion.
Neutrality is a myth in spiritual matters.
The Epitome of Divine Love: John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” — John 3:16 (KJV)
This is the clearest expression of the Divine Force:

Love without condition Redemption without human merit Victory without compromise

Jesus Christ did not merely oppose satan—He defeated him.
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” — 1 John 3:8 (KJV)
A Final Victory Is Certain

The defeat of satan is not theoretical; it is decided.
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone… and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” — Revelation 20:10 (KJV)
Jesus Christ will defeat him again publicly, eternally, and judicially.
Conclusion: The Question Still Stands
So again, the question remains:
What is your reason for not doing better?
Light has come.
Truth has been revealed.
Love has been demonstrated.
Victory has been secured.
The only remaining issue is your response.
“Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” — Hebrews 3:15 (KJV)
A Call to Salvation
If you have not given your life to Jesus Christ, now is the moment of choice.

Salvation Prayer
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe You died for my sins and rose again for my justification. I renounce darkness, receive Your light, and surrender my life to You. Be my Lord and my Saviour. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
