“That I may know Him…” — Philippians 3:10
💡 Christianity Is About Relationship, Not Routine
Every Christian must develop a true and living relationship with God—not just religious habits or obligations. This relationship is nurtured through the Holy Spirit, who brings us into communion with our Heavenly Father.
Christianity was never meant to be about checking boxes. It is a walk of intimacy—a bond between a loving Father and His beloved children.
“I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.”
— John 10:14 (KJV)
This “knowing” is not intellectual. It is personal, experiential, and spiritual.
💑 A Picture of Intimacy: Like Husband and Wife
There is a way a correct husband knows his wife, and she knows him in return—a level of intimacy that no outsider can fully understand. This is the same type of knowing God wants with us: deep, exclusive, consistent.
This level of intimacy doesn’t come through distance or mere observation; it grows through presence, fellowship, and yielded hearts.
👶 Learning from Children
Children who are raised in love know how to ask their parents for what they need. And parents, out of love, respond.
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children,
how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
— Matthew 7:11 (KJV)
But there are also moments when children don’t want toys or snacks—they want nothing but to be held. Those quiet moments of bonding build lifelong intimacy.
Likewise, our bond with God grows not just during our “give me” prayers, but in the still, quiet moments of resting in His arms.
🩵 God Is a Father First
The original design of parenting and fatherhood comes from God. His disposition is full of love, discipline, patience, protection, and generosity.
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us,
that we should be called the sons of God…”
— 1 John 3:1 (KJV)
If we are truly His children and we truly know Him, we will love Him—not just in theory, but in action and obedience.
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
— John 14:15 (KJV)
Our obedience becomes a natural outflow of our love and intimacy with Him. We desire to please Him. We want to put a smile on His face.
💔 A Personal Cry of Repentance and Love
Father, please forgive me every time I failed to demonstrate through my words and actions that I love You and appreciate You.
My heart breaks at the times I must have displeased You with my disobedience. Yet I am overwhelmed by how deeply You love me—how You keep forgiving me, blessing me, and drawing me near.
I want to live each day putting a smile on Your face. Help me grow beyond shallow religion into unbroken fellowship. Teach me to love You, not just with my lips, but with every fibre of my being. I long to know You more—intimately, deeply, truly.
🔥 A Final Charge to You
Dear reader, don’t settle for religious activity when God is inviting you to true fellowship.
👉 Make time to sit with Him.
👉 Talk to Him—and listen.
👉 Obey Him quickly and joyfully.
👉 Love Him not for what He gives, but for Who He is.
Let it be your cry daily:
“That I may know Him…” (Philippians 3:10)
🙌 A Call to Salvation
If you’re not yet sure that you are a child of God, or if your relationship with Him has grown cold, don’t delay. The door is still open.
🙏 Salvation Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I come to You today with a longing to know You. I believe You died for me and rose again. I confess You as my Lord and Saviour. I turn from my sins and receive Your forgiveness. Come into my heart and fill me with Your Spirit. Let me know You as Father, and help me walk with You every day. Amen.
