Finding God’s Blessing in Every Season: Embracing the Weather God Sends

What is your favorite type of weather?

Dear Beloved Readers,

Have you ever pondered which weather you like the most? Perhaps you’re drawn to the warmth of the sun, the tranquility of a gentle rain, or the crispness of a snowy day. Each season brings its own unique beauty, but have you considered that God’s hand is at work in every weather pattern?

In Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, King Solomon beautifully articulates that there is a time for everything under the heavens—a time to embrace and a time to refrain, including seasons and weather:

“For everything there is a season,

a time for every activity under heaven.

A time to be born and a time to die.

A time to plant and a time to harvest.

A time to kill and a time to heal.

A time to tear down and a time to build up.

A time to cry and a time to laugh.

A time to grieve and a time to dance.

A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.

A time to embrace and a time to turn away.

A time to search and a time to quit searching.

A time to keep and a time to throw away.

A time to tear and a time to mend.

A time to be quiet and a time to speak.

A time to love and a time to hate.

A time for war and a time for peace.”

Just as there are seasons in nature, there are seasons in our lives. Sometimes we experience sunny days filled with joy and abundance, while other times we endure storms of sorrow and uncertainty. But through it all, God remains constant, guiding us with His unwavering love and wisdom.

In Philippians 4:12-13, the apostle Paul reveals the secret to finding contentment in every circumstance, including our preference for certain types of weather:

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

Regardless of whether we find ourselves basking in the warmth of the sun or seeking shelter from the storms, let us remember that God is with us, orchestrating every season for our ultimate good (Romans 8:28).

So, which weather do I like the most? The answer is simple: I like the weather that God sends, for in it I find His grace, His provision, and His perfect plan unfolding before me.

May we embrace each season—both in nature and in our lives—with gratitude and trust, knowing that God is faithful to carry us through, come rain or shine.
