Who are the biggest influences in your life?
In the grand tapestry of existence, we are all shaped by the influences that guide our journey. As I ponder the question of the greatest influences in my life, I am drawn to the unchanging and profound sources of wisdom and grace that have anchored my voyage—God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and the cherished mentors, Reverend Olusola and Reverend Oyenike Areogun.
1. The Sovereign God:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”* (Revelation 22:13)
At the helm of my life’s ship stands the Sovereign God, the eternal Alpha and Omega. His influence is the compass that guides my course, ensuring that every wave and wind align with His divine purpose.
2. The Guiding Light of Jesus:
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
Jesus, the Guiding Light, permeates my journey with unwavering radiance. His teachings illuminate my path, and His redemptive love becomes the North Star by which I navigate life’s uncertainties.
3. The Comforting Presence of the Holy Spirit:
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”m (John 14:26)
In the quiet whispers of the Holy Spirit, I find solace and direction. His influence is a gentle breeze that fills my sails, propelling me forward with divine guidance and unwavering support.
4. The Living Word: The Bible:
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
The Bible, a living testament to God’s wisdom, is the map that charts my course. Its verses breathe life into my spirit, offering timeless guidance, correction, and inspiration at every turn.
5. Wise Spiritual Mentors: Reverend Olusola and Reverend Oyenike Areogun:
“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account.”*l(Hebrews 13:17)
In Reverend Olusola and Reverend Oyenike Areogun, I am blessed with spiritual parents whose influence mirrors the shepherding love of God. Their teachings and example become a lighthouse on the shore, guiding me through storms and calm seas alike.
As I reflect on these profound influences, I am reminded that my journey is a tapestry woven with threads of divine grace and human wisdom. The synergy of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and earthly mentors shapes a narrative of purpose, resilience, and unwavering faith—a testament to the transformative power of a life guided by these unshakeable influences.
