Celebrating Christmas in the Light of Christ

Dearly beloved,

As we approach the joyous season of Christmas, let us reflect on the profound symbolism of light in our celebrations. In the Gospel of John 8:12, Jesus declares, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” This Christmas, let our decorations echo this divine truth.

In 1 John 1:5, the apostle John further emphasizes, “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” Our Christmas lights can serve as a radiant reminder that Jesus, the Saviour of the world, dispels the darkness in our lives.

In Colossians 1:13, Paul shares, “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son.” The lights we adorn represent our transition from darkness to the Kingdom of light, a testimony of our faith in Jesus Christ.

So, let the glow of the lights in our homes and church symbolize the eternal light brought into the world through the birth of our Lord and Savior. As we celebrate, may our hearts be aglow with the love and salvation found in Jesus, the true light of the world.

Wishing you a blessed and illuminated Christmas season.

In Christ’s love

The Message Bearer, Cornelius Bella
