Prioritising God: Your Ultimate Daily Mission

What’s your #1 priority tomorrow?

In the fast-paced world we live in, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. Our to-do lists can be overwhelming, our schedules packed to the brim, leaving us wondering where to start each day. But as followers of Christ, we are called to set our priorities straight. So, what is your number one priority today or tomorrow? Let’s explore how servicing your relationship with God should be your daily mission, and how it empowers every other aspect of your life.

1. Seek Ye First – Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

In the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, Jesus instructs us, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” These profound words serve as a compass for our lives. Prioritising God’s kingdom means putting Him above all else, trusting that everything else will fall into place.

2. Delighting in God – Psalm 37:4 (TPT)

The Passion Translation (TPT) of Psalm 37:4 encourages us with these words: “Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life, and he will provide for you what you desire the most.” When God becomes our greatest delight, our hearts align with His, and our desires reflect His will. Your relationship with God should be the source of your most profound joy and fulfilment.

3. God’s Strength in Weakness – 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (AMP)

The Amplified Bible (AMP) reminds us of God’s promise in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10: “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” When we make God our priority, we tap into His strength, which is made perfect in our weakness.

4. Drawing Near to God – James 4:8 (KJV)

In the King James Version (KJV), James 4:8 tells us, “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” Your active relationship with God should be a daily commitment. When you draw near to Him through prayer, worship, and studying His Word, He responds by drawing near to you. This closeness with God is where you find the enablement to navigate life’s challenges.

As you plan for today or tomorrow, remember that your relationship with God is the cornerstone of everything else. When you put Him first, you experience His provision, delight in His presence, and discover His strength in your weakness. Let your daily mission be to prioritise your relationship with God, and you’ll find that it empowers you for every other aspect of life.
