Interview someone — a friend, another blogger, your mother, the mailman — and write a post based on their responses.
In this heartfelt interview, my wife Abi and I, a devoted Christian couple, share our inspiring journey of faith and love and its impact on our lives and marriage. We hope our experiences and the Bible verses we hold dear will inspire and encourage others on their faith journeys.
Interviewer (Me): Thank you all for joining us today. We want to start by discussing how our faith has played a significant role in our lives and marriage.
Abi: Of course, ML. Our faith has been the rock upon which our love has flourished. One of our favourite verses, Proverbs 3:5-6, reminds us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” This verse has been our guiding light, teaching us to trust God’s plan together.
Me: That’s right. Can you share an instance where our faith was mainly tested and how we overcame it?
Abi: Absolutely. There was a challenging time when we faced financial difficulties. It felt overwhelming, but we turned to Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” We prioritised our faith and trust that God would provide, and He did. This experience strengthened our belief that God is faithful.
Me: It’s a testament to our faith. How do we keep our faith strong daily?
Abi: Prayer is fundamental in our daily lives. We start and end each day in prayer, seeking God’s guidance and thanking Him for His blessings. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Me: Those verses have been a source of strength for us. How has our faith impacted our marriage and our relationships with others?
Abi: Our faith has taught us the importance of love, forgiveness, and patience. Ephesians 4:32 encourages us to “be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” This verse reminds us to extend grace to each other and those around us, strengthening our marriage.
Me: In closing, what advice would you give to couples who are looking to strengthen their faith and their marriage?
Abi: We encourage them to make God the centre of their relationship. Read and meditate on His Word together, pray together, and lean on each other for support. As Ecclesiastes 4:12 reminds us, “Though another may overpower one, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” With God at the centre, your marriage will be strong and unbreakable.
This interview between me and my lovely wife reminds me that faith, deeply rooted in love and trust in God, can lead to a fulfilling and resilient marriage.
May our journey inspire you to seek God’s guidance in your life and marriage, trusting He will always lead you on the right path.
