Please read through, and thoroughly it will bless you and clarify God’s will for you and others:
1 Corinthians 6:9-20 NLT
“Don’t you realise that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”,—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything. You say, “Food was made for the stomach, and the stomach for food.” (This is true, though someday God will do away with both of them.) But you can’t say that our bodies were made for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about our bodies. And God will raise us from the dead by his power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead. Don’t you realise that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which is part of Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never! And don’t you realise that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, “The two are united into one.” But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Don’t you realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honour God with your body.”
In a world filled with temptations and desires, it can be challenging to navigate the path of righteousness. As Christians, we are called to embrace purity and distance ourselves from sexual sin, as outlined in the powerful words of 1 Corinthians 6:9-20.
The Bible reminds us that those who indulge in sexual sin, along with other vices, will not inherit the Kingdom of God. But take heart, for it also offers hope and redemption. Some of us may have once been entangled in such behaviours, but through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit, we have been cleansed, made holy, and made right with God.
It is essential to remember that we have the freedom to choose, but not everything that seems permissible is beneficial. We must avoid becoming slaves to our desires and instead find freedom in the loving embrace of Christ. Our bodies are not meant for sexual immorality; rather, they are temples of the Holy Spirit, dwelling places of the divine within us. God cares deeply about our bodies, and by respecting and honouring them, we honour Him.
The Scripture warns us against joining our bodies with those who do not share in the faith, for we are united with Christ in spirit. Sexual sin deeply impacts our bodies and souls, causing harm and breaking the sacred bond we have with the Lord. Therefore, it is crucial to run from sexual sin and flee from temptation, seeking refuge in the arms of our loving Savior.
We are bought with a high price – the precious blood of Christ. Our bodies are not our own; they belong to God. As we honour Him with our bodies, we glorify His name and fulfil our purpose in this world. Let us embrace purity, seeking the guidance and strength of the Holy Spirit to resist the allure of sin.
In conclusion, remember that God’s grace is abundant, and His love is unconditional. No matter what struggles we may face, we can find forgiveness and restoration in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Let us strive for purity, running from sexual sin, and living a life that brings glory to God.
May we be a shining examples of His love and righteousness to the world around us.
