What’s your favorite thing about yourself?
As a Christian, one of the most cherished aspects of my faith is the deep longing within my heart for God and the things pertaining to Him. Every fiber of my being yearns to know Him intimately, to follow Him wholeheartedly, and to honor Him in all that I do. In this blog post, I want to share the favorite thing about me as a Christian: my love and honor for God, supported by relevant Bible verses that have touched my heart and inspired my journey.
1. My Heart’s Longing:
Just like the psalmist in Psalm 42:1, I find my soul echoing the words, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.” There is an unquenchable thirst within me, a yearning for God’s presence, His truth, and His guidance. It is this longing that propels me forward in my faith, urging me to seek a deeper and more intimate relationship with Him.
2. God as My First Priority:
Matthew 6:33 serves as a constant reminder in my life: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” In my journey as a Christian, I have learned the importance of placing God above everything else. By making Him the center of my heart and my life, I honor Him and acknowledge His rightful place as the Lord of all.
3. Delighting in His Word:
Psalm 119:16 resonates deeply with me: “I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.” The Word of God is a source of joy and nourishment for my soul. It is in His Word that I find wisdom, comfort, and direction. Every time I open the Bible, my heart leaps with excitement, for I know that God is about to reveal more of Himself to me.
4. Worshiping with Heart and Life:
John 4:24 speaks volumes about the kind of worship that brings joy to God: “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” Through my love and honor for God, I express my worship not only through songs and prayers but also by living a life that reflects His character. I strive to love others, show compassion, and extend grace, allowing His love to flow through me.
As a Christian, my favorite thing about myself is my heart that pants after God. It is the driving force behind my love and honor for Him. I am grateful for the unquenchable thirst within me that continually draws me closer to God, seeking Him with all that I am. I desire to keep Him as my top priority, to delight in His Word, and to worship Him not only with my lips but also with the entirety of my life.
May my love for God and my desire to honor Him be evident to all those around me, serving as a testament to the transformative power of a relationship with Him. And may we, as fellow believers, encourage one another to keep our hearts aflame, pursuing God with unwavering devotion.
