What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?
In a world that often measures success by material possessions, achievements, and status, it’s easy to lose sight of what it truly means to “have it all.” As Christians, we are called to a different perspective—one that values spiritual treasures above earthly riches. In this blog, we will explore the profound truth that having it all means having Christ, for in Him, God adds all things. Let us dive into the Word of God to understand the true riches we receive when we seek first His kingdom.
1. The Vanity of Gaining the Whole World: “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26)
The world offers temporary satisfaction and fleeting pleasures. No matter how much wealth or success we accumulate, it pales in comparison to the eternal value of our souls. True fulfillment cannot be found in worldly possessions alone.
2. Having It All in Christ: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)
When we prioritize the kingdom of God and His righteousness, we align ourselves with His will and purpose. In doing so, we discover that having it all begins with having a relationship with Christ. He becomes the source of our contentment, joy, and true riches that endure beyond this life.
3. God’s Promise of Provision: “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
When we have Christ, we have access to the limitless resources of our heavenly Father. He promises to meet our needs abundantly, not necessarily in the way the world defines it, but according to His perfect wisdom and timing. Trusting in God’s provision allows us to let go of anxieties and experience the freedom of having it all in Him.
4. The Inheritance of Saints: “So you will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.” (2 Corinthians 9:11)
As children of God, we inherit immeasurable blessings. Our wealth is not solely for personal gain but also to be shared generously with others. Having it all means experiencing the joy of giving and using our resources to bless those in need, ultimately bringing glory and gratitude to God.
In a world obsessed with accumulating worldly possessions, we are called to a different standard. Having it all is not about gaining the whole world and losing our souls; rather, it is about gaining Christ and finding true fulfillment in Him. By seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, we unlock the promise of God’s provision and discover the richness that comes from living a life centered on Him. Let us remember that in having Christ, we truly have it all.
