Live By Faith And Be Led By The Holy Spirit

What topics do you like to discuss?

Living by Faith and being led by the Holy Spirit is central to the Christian faith. As believers, we are called to trust in God’s goodness and guidance and to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. In this blog, we will explore what it means to live by faith and how we can trust in God’s guidance through the Holy Spirit.

Living by Faith and the leading of the Holy Spirit is a crucial topic for Christians to discuss, as it is the foundation of our relationship with God. As believers, we are called to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), trusting that God will guide us every step of the way.

Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” In other words, faith is the confident assurance that what we hope for will happen; it is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. As Christians, our faith is grounded in the belief that God is good and has a plan for our lives. We trust He is in control, and His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Living by faith means trusting God’s provision for our physical and spiritual needs. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:31-33, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things, the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Living by faith also means that we trust in God’s guidance for our lives. The Holy Spirit is our guide, and we can trust that He will lead us in the way we should go (John 16:13). As we read in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

One of the most significant aspects of living by faith is submitting to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our helper, counsellor, and guide, who leads us into all truth (John 16:13). When we surrender to His leading, we can trust that God will direct our steps and guide us in the way we should go.

In Galatians 5:16-18, Paul encourages us to walk in the Spirit and not fulfil the desires of the flesh. He writes, “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if the Spirit leads you, you are not under the law.”

Walking in the Spirit means living a life characterised by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). When we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us, we can live a life that pleases God, one that reflects His love and character.

But how do we know when the Holy Spirit is leading us? First, we must be willing to listen. As we read in James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” We can ask God to give us wisdom and discernment and then trust that He will guide us through His Spirit.

Second, we must be willing to obey. As Jesus tells us in John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commands.” When we obey God’s commands, we demonstrate our love for Him and trust His guidance.

Living by faith and submitting to the leading of the Holy Spirit also means that we trust in God’s plan for our lives, even when we don’t understand it. In Proverbs 3:5-6, we are instructed to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our understanding. Instead, we are to acknowledge Him in all our ways, and He will make our paths straight.

Living by faith and following the leading of the Holy Spirit is not always easy. It requires us to trust God even when we cannot see the outcome. But as we read in Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” When we trust in God’s goodness and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, we can be confident that He will work all things together for our good.

In conclusion, living by faith and following the leading of the Holy Spirit is essential to the Christian life. Living by faith and submitting to the leading of the Holy Spirit is essential for every believer in our Lord Jesus Christ. We can trust that God will guide us every step of the way as we walk in the Spirit and surrender to His will. It requires us to trust in God’s goodness and provision and to follow His guidance even when it doesn’t make sense to us. As we read in Proverbs 16:9, “In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

Let us hold fast to the promise in Romans 8:14, “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”

Let us trust in God’s guidance and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in all things.
