Describe a risk you took that you do not regret.
The story I am about to share with you is a testament to the power of faith and trusting in God’s word. The Bible tells us in the book of Joshua 1:9 that “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
I risked going against a demonic authority in my University days. There was a particular lecturer that everyone was afraid of; there was no one that was ever in her gun sight that survived. I took the risk to go forward to take my exams despite other lecturer telling me not to bother thinking that there was no way I could pass the woman’s exams. I stood on God’s word and experienced a spiritual awakening – the Holy Spirit showed me things to come. I passed all my exams and graduated from the university. I remember the woman staring at me from a distance, wondering how I had escaped her whims. I have never regretted taking any risk as long as I have God on my side.

As believers, we are called to stand firm in our faith and trust in God, even in the face of opposition. In the Bible, the Apostle Paul encourages us to “put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:11). This means that we must be prepared to face spiritual battles and be willing to stand up against evil, even when it is coming from those in on the negative or demonic side of authority.
My experience is a perfect example of this. Despite being warned by others not to challenge the authority of a particular evil lecturer, I decided to trust in God and take the risk to move forward with my exams. In doing so, I experienced a spiritual awakening and was able to pass my exams and graduate from University.
My experience is reminiscent of the story of Daniel and his three friends in the book of Daniel. When faced with the challenge of bowing down to a statue of the king, they refused to compromise their faith and were thrown into a fiery furnace. However, God was with them amid the flames, and they emerged unscathed (Daniel 3:1-30).
In the same way, my faith in God allowed me to overcome the challenges and opposition I faced. As it says in Romans 8:31, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” When we trust in God and stand firm in our faith, we can be confident that He will be with us every step of the way, no matter what obstacles we face.
In conclusion, as Christians, we should take risks and trust in God’s word. We should not be afraid of the demonic forces that we may encounter in our lives, but instead, we should have faith in God and take the necessary steps to overcome them. My experience teaches us the importance of standing firm in our faith, even when it means going against those with unrighteous authority. We must trust in God and His promises, knowing He will be with us in every circumstance. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
