In the beginning, God created light,
A spark in darkness, shining bright,
He formed the earth and sea and sky,
And breathed in life, the birds to fly.
Adam and Eve, the first to dwell,
In Eden’s garden, all was well,
But temptation’s serpent slithered in,
And sin entered, the curse of sin.
Abraham trusted God’s command,
Left his home, to a promised land,
Isaac, his son, was offered in faith,
But a ram was caught in his place.
Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt,
With miracles and plagues, God equipped,
The Red Sea parted, manna fell,
Their journey to the promised land, a tale to tell.
David was a shepherd, a king to be,
His harp played, his heart set free,
He slayed the giant with a single stone,
And reigned with wisdom, on the throne.
Esther, a queen, a Jew at heart,
Risked her life, to play her part,
Saved her people from Haman’s plot,
God’s hand at work, in this tale so fraught.
Mary, a virgin, pure and meek,
Bore the Son of God, to save the weak,
Jesus, our Savior, our Lord and King,
Redeemed us all, with His offering.
Peter, a fisherman, denied His friend,
But Jesus forgave him, to the end,
He preached the gospel, to the nations far,
A rock of faith, amidst the scar.
Paul, a persecutor, became a saint,
Transformed by grace, a new fate,
He spread the word, with fervor and zeal,
His life a testament, to God’s appeal.
Bible characters, with stories to tell,
Their lives a witness, to God’s love so well,
May we learn from their faith and strife,
And live in God’s grace, for eternal life.
