Introduction: What is salvation? Salvation is the act of being saved from something. In Christianity, salvation refers to being saved from the consequences of sin. Sin is anything that goes against God’s will. It includes both actions and thoughts. The consequences of sin include death and eternal separation from God.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
Body: The problem of sin is a problem because it separates us from God. God is holy and perfect, and sin is anything that is not holy or perfect. So, we say we do not want to follow God’s ways when we sin. This makes us enemies of God.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” – Romans 3:23
The solution of Jesus Christ is the solution to the problem of sin. He came to earth as a human being and lived a perfect life. He then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. When we repent our sins and put our faith in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and made right with God.
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” – 1 Peter 3:18
How to be saved, you must first repent of your sins. This means turning away from your sin and turning to God. You must then believe in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross. Finally, you must accept Him as your Lord and Savior.
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9
Conclusion: The benefit of salvation has many benefits. First, it brings forgiveness of sins. When you are saved, your sins are forgiven and made right with God. Second, salvation brings eternal life. When you die, you will go to heaven to be with God. Third, salvation brings peace and joy. When you are saved, you have the peace of knowing that you are forgiven and have a place in heaven. You also have the joy of knowing that you are a child of God.
“In him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, by the riches of God’s grace.” – Ephesians 1:7
