What Makes You Unique

Which aspects do you think makes a person unique?

According to the Bible verse 1 Peter 2:9-11, as a Christian, you are unique in several ways. Firstly, you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, and a dedicated nation. This means that God has specifically chosen you to be part of his family, and you have a unique purpose to fulfil. You have been set apart for a special mission and to display the virtues and perfections of God in your life.

Secondly, you were once not a people, but now you are God’s people. This shows that you have been brought into a new identity through faith in Jesus Christ. Your past or your circumstances no longer define your identity but your relationship with God.

Thirdly, you have received mercy and pity from God. This means that you have been forgiven of your sins and have been shown compassion and kindness by God. This unique experience sets you apart from those who have not yet experienced God’s mercy and grace.

Lastly, as an alien, stranger, and exile in this world, you are called to abstain from the sensual urges and passions of the flesh that wage war against your soul. This means that as a Christian, you are called to live a life that is different from the world around you. You are called to live a life that is focused on God and his ways rather than on the desires and pleasures of the flesh.

Overall, as a Christian, you are unique because of your identity as a chosen, special, and dedicated person of God, your experience of mercy and pity, and your call to live a holy and set-apart life in a world that is often opposed to God’s ways.
