The Weapons of Our Warfare

The weapons of a Christian’s warfare are not physical but spiritual.

So, the Bible describes them in Ephesians 6:10-18, where it says:

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armour of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and, after you have done everything, stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always pray for all the Lord’s people.”

So, the weapons of a Christian’s warfare are:

1. The belt of truth

2. The breastplate of righteousness

3. The readiness that comes from the gospel of peace

4. The shield of faith

5. The helmet of salvation

6. The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

7. Prayer in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

These spiritual weapons help Christians to stand firm against the spiritual forces of evil in the world and to live a victorious Christian life.

The Bible does not describe the shape of the weapon of our warfare, as physical weapons are not what Christians use in their spiritual battles. Instead, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, it says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God and take every thought captive to obey Christ.”

The weapons of our warfare are not physical but spiritual weapons with divine power to demolish strongholds and fight against the spiritual forces of evil.

Therefore, the weapon of our warfare is not a physical shape but rather spiritual qualities and characteristics such as faith, prayer, love, truth, righteousness, and the word of God, which help us stand firm and overcome enemy attacks.
