Acts 10:46 KJV – For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God…
If you see any experience in the Bible, you should long to have it.
The most profound truth for a child of God is to know that the greatest gift God has given the world is Jesus.
John 3:16 AMPC – For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
Jesus is God’s gift to the world; the Holy Spirit is God’s gift to the Church.
You can’t enter a relationship with God without Jesus. Still, after you enter a relationship with God through Jesus, the Holy Spirit opens you up to the benefit of that relationship.
Jesus only relates with you as the saviour when you are a sinner. As soon as you are saved, He relates with you as Lord. That’s why the confession that makes you saved is “Jesus is Lord.”
It is possible for you to have Jesus in your life with no evidence of it to the world. It is the Holy Spirit that brings that evidence.
John 16:7 AMPC – However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].
The key that unlocks the doors to what the Holy Ghost has brought into your life is the ability to speak in tongues.
Mark 16:17 KJV – And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues
It is the Holy Ghost that brings the supernatural elements of the word into manifestation.
You can go as far as possible, but the Holy Spirit can take you further.
When you are a child of God, and you do not pray in tongues, it is the devil that does not want you to do it.
When you pray in tongues a lot, you find it easier to accommodate the weaknesses of the people around you.
Romans 8:26-28 TPT – And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words. God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings, yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us, his holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny. So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.
When we pray in the Spirit, we give the Holy Spirit the room to do three things as far as satan’s plans are concerned:
1. To intercept it
2. To interrupt it
3. To intervene against satan’s plans against you or others that are close to you.
For everyone that has a ministry and destiny in the pulpit, it is a requirement to be baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
As a minister of the Gospel, if you are baptized in the Holy Ghost and you speak in tongues a lot, your message may be simple, but it will bless lives more.
1 Corinthians 2:4 AMPC – And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom [using clever rhetoric], but [they were delivered] in demonstration of the [Holy] Spirit [operating through me] and of [His] power [stirring the minds of the listeners and persuading them]
You cannot succeed in ministry if you do not have the ability to speak in tongues. You will be stopped and stranded when you speak. You will just be giving a talk. You will be just an orator.
It is not our oratory, but it is that ability to speak in tongues that takes us beyond man.
As a tongue-speaking believer, you have a supernatural mouth behind your natural mouth, but it may be dormant if you do not do spiritual exercise by praying in tongues.
Luke 21:14-15 AMPC – Resolve and settle it in your minds not to meditate and prepare beforehand how you are to make your defense and how you will answer. For I [Myself] will give you a mouth and such utterance and wisdom that all of your foes combined will be unable to stand against or refute.
For a Child of God, the Holy Spirit is the most important personality.
As a carrier of the Holy Spirit, you are the protection of everyone in your life that does not have the Holy Spirit.
1 Timothy 2:1 AMPC – First of all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men.
There are people you don’t know, and God wants you to pray for them. God knows them and wants intervention for them.
When you pray in tongues, you pray for situations and people you don’t know and can’t know naturally, and you could not have prayed for them naturally.
You build up yourself on your most Holy faith when you pray in tongues.
Jude 20 AMPC – But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit.
Words affect our souls and spirit in a way that nothing else will affect us.
If you work for 4 hours talking to this person and that person and they drain you with all kinds of difficult frustrations, Just 15 minutes of speaking in tongues can give you the recovery that you need, but the devil would not want you to do that.
Ignore the devil – Just speak in tongues. You do not need to take a break to speak in tongues!
There are critical relationships in your life – primarily with God, then with your Pastor and your wife.
In a Biblical marriage and a good Christian home, your wife ought to be the closest and dearest to you after God. So, if you do not have a good relationship with your wife, you may likely not have a good relationship with the Holy Spirit.
You may easily exhaust the patience of your spouse, but you can’t easily exhaust the patience of the Holy Spirit as long as you don’t continue to strive with the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 6:3 KJV – And the Lord said, My Spirit shall not always strive with man…
The Holy Spirit knows you more than you know yourself. Letting the Holy Spirit lead you is the wisest thing you could ever do.
As a child of God, there is a higher place for you.
Don’t dwell in the lower planes of life. The Holy Spirit is your pathway to that higher place.
