Your enemy has already taken a position of opposition and expects you to take the same position. Your hater has already concluded that you probably hate them, too, putting themselves under perpetual demonic bondage.
You, a child of God, born-again and Spirit-filled, must not stoop to their level by taking offence, being enraged or bearing malice. A child of God is always at an advantage in Christ Jesus, and by the Power backup of the Holy Spirit, God puts you above and ahead of your enemy.
So what did Jesus say we should do to our enemies and haters?
“…I say to you, love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies and pray for those who persecute you (Matthew 5:43-44 AMP)”
The greatest unexpected thing you can do to your enemy is to love them and pray for them.
When you put action behind that love, God will reward you.
“If thine enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink: For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, And the LORD shall reward thee. Proverbs 25:21-22 KJV
Pray for your enemy so that they will be saved:
To open their eyes, turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Acts 26:18 KJV
Do you know that if your ways please God, even your enemies will be at peace with you?
When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7 KJV
Pray for your enemies: there is warfare, and there are weapons of warfare – Prayer is a key warfare weapon – Mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Amen!
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 KJV
Finally, pray for your enemies because vengeance is the Lord’s.
To me belongeth vengeance and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. Deuteronomy 32:35 KJV
“Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest and proper and noble [aiming to be above reproach] in the sight of everyone. [Prov. 20:22.] If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God’s] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord. [Deut. 32:35.]” Romans 12:17-19 AMPC
Remember this your enemies are the enemies of God, and your haters are haters of God. So be assured that they have God to deal with. God will contend with them. He heaps tribulations upon those who trouble you see Isaiah 49:25-26 and 2 Thessalonians 1:6.
But you do what Jesus said – love and pray for them, and it shall be well with you.
