Psalms 89:22 TPT “None of his enemies will get the best of him, nor will the wicked one overpower him.”

The first line of attack of the devil against anything of God in your life is to make it look foolish to you.
It is to the devil’s advantage that you separate yourself from God, the people of God and the things of God.
Ephesians 4:27 AMPC “Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him].”
Backsliding is giving room to the devil. You stop being hot and fervent for the things of God.
Revelation 3:16 KJV So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Serving God becomes a chore. Divine spiritual things do not stimulate you anymore. And you begin to crave pleasure for your flesh (Galatians 5:17-26).
Every time you backslide or pull back from the Divine, you pull into the hands of the devil, and you give the devil the advantage.
More Signs that You are Backsliding:
Your being absent from Church services or meetings does not bother you. If you are being followed up and asked why you were absent, you take offence.
You stop paying your tithe. You feel it is your right to take from the Church but that you have no obligation towards the Church.
You are comfortable taking the seat of a spectator in the Church rather than participating or partaking in spiritual activities.
You feel you are above the protocol of your local Church and lack accountability to the leadership structure.
You will not pray unless the camera is on you or you are instructed to unmute and pray during Zoom meetings.
You stop speaking in tongues.
A vibrant Christian does not need to be persuaded to speak in tongues.
Speaking in tongues is God’s family’s identifying mark in the new testament. You cannot find anywhere in the New Testament that anyone got baptised in the Holy Ghost and didn’t speak in tongues.
If you find that speaking in tongues has become laborious, you are pulling out of the divine into the demonic, and you are losing to the devil somewhere.
Psalm 139:23-24 KJV Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Take a pause and check if you are backsliding into the open jaws of hell, and make necessary amends before it is too late. It does not matter how far gone you are. You can make a U-turn.

Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.”
