1 Peter 3:7 NLT “In the same way, you husbands must give honour to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.”
The scripture above carries a strong warning from God that husbands who maltreat their wives will experience hindered prayers.
But I want you wives to also see from this angle that God honours the prayers of wives for their husbands. The greatest prayer that any Born-again woman that is married to an unbeliever can pray is that her husband should be saved.
It may be challenging persevering in the place of prayer for your husband, but the truth is that either your husband gets saved or he will face judgement and be cast into hell.
Revelation 21:8 AMPC “But as for the cowards and the ignoble and the contemptible and the cravenly lacking in courage and the cowardly submissive, and as for the unbelieving and faithless, and as for the depraved and defiled with abominations, and as for murderers and the lewd and adulterous and the practicers of magic arts and the idolaters (those who give supreme devotion to anyone or anything other than God) and all liars (those who knowingly convey untruth by word or deed)–[all of these shall have] their part in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone. This is the second death. [Isa. 30:33.]”
Be encouraged; let it be at least mentioned before God that you did your best.
God desires that every man repents, and it must be your desire.
1 Timothy 2:4 AMP “Who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge and recognition of the [divine] truth.”
Acts 26:18 AMPC “To open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may thus receive forgiveness and release from their sins and a place and portion among those who are consecrated and purified by faith In Me. [Isa. 42:7, 16.].”
Ezekiel 11:19-20 AMPC “And I will give them one heart [a new heart], and I will put a new spirit within them; and I will take the stony [unnaturally hardened] heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh [sensitive and responsive to the touch of their God], [Ezek. 18:31; 36:26; II Cor. 3:3.] That they may walk in My statutes and keep My ordinances, and do them. And they shall be My people, and I will be their God.”
After reading the scripture above, pray like this for your husband:
⁃ “Dear Father, I pray for my -mention his full name- my husband that You would, in Your great mercy, bought by the blood of Jesus, take out the heart of stone and give him a tender, soft heart toward You the One and True God. Put a new spirit in him. Give him a new disposition towards Your word to love your word and keep it. Become his God. Make and transform him to be your child.”
Read:
Deuteronomy 30:6 AMPC “And the Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with all your being, that you may live.”
Pray:
⁃ Mention his full name – The Lord, my God, will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring so that you will love the Lord God Almighty with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
⁃ Father God, please cut away his sinful nature – the old nature of self-exaltation and self-rule. You did this for me, do it for my husband too. God, please circumcise his heart, so it is free from resistance to your truth and goodness and beauty. Cause him, O Lord, to love You through Jesus Christ, I pray.”
The following scripture is for you. You are the Lord’s servant in your home – remember, emotionalism will get you nowhere, but the right attitude and prayers will go a long way. As the Lord’s servant, you must not partake in sin nor condone it.
James 4:7 AMPC “So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.”
You must submit yourself to God daily and resist the devil consistently for him to be far from you and your affairs.
2 Timothy 2:24-26 AMPC “And the servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome (fighting and contending). Instead, he must be kindly to everyone and mild-tempered [preserving the bond of peace]; he must be a skilled and suitable teacher, patient and forbearing and willing to suffer wrong. He must correct his opponents with courtesy and gentleness in the hope that God may grant that they will repent and come to know the Truth [that they will perceive and recognise and become accurately acquainted with and acknowledge it] And that they may come to their senses [and] escape out of the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him, [henceforth] to do His [God’s] will.”
May the Lord open his heart like He did Lydia’s (Acts 16:14).
May the light of God shine out of darkness into his heart (2 Cor 4:6).
Lord, it may look impossible that my husband can be saved, but what is impossible to man is not impossible with God (Luke 18:27).
So, Lord, I pray. Convert -mention is full name-my husband – let him have a Divine encounter that will transform his whole life in Jesus’ Name.
Prayer is always beneficial worry never is, so be encouraged never to cease to pray.
Luke 18:1 AMPC “ALSO [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 AMPC “Be happy [in your faith] and Rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always); Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly]; Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].”
