An anointed day to you and your family!
I was on Facebook today spreading the Good News when I came across a post of images depicting Jesus washing people’s feet, and someone commented that this is so powerful. Jesus is for all! And indeed He is.
However, for better understanding so that the message is not befuddled by a mere collection of images, please read the Bible. It is accurate that Jesus is indeed for all who come to Him and accept His offer of Salvation with emphasis on Come and Accept.
Isaiah 1:18 Amplified Bible
18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red, like crimson, They shall be like wool.
Matthew 11:28-30 Amplified Bible
28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy [to bear], and My burden is light.”
Regarding the washing of the feet, too, as you can see in the Scripture below – you have to allow Him to do it – He will not force Himself on you.
John 13:7-9 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
7 Jesus said to him, You do not understand now what I am doing, but you will understand later on. 8 Peter said to Him, You shall never wash my feet! Jesus answered him, Unless I wash you, you have no part with (in) Me [you have no share in companionship with Me]. 9 Simon Peter said to Him, Lord, [wash] not only my feet but my hands and my head too!
Jesus is for all who accept Him. He is for all who would accept the love of God for them. Jesus is the demonstration of God’s love for all. But that Love must be recognised and accepted for it to make meaning and have a full impact.
John 3:15-17 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
15 In order that everyone who believes in Him [who cleaves to Him, trusts Him, and relies on Him] may [not perish, but have eternal life and [actually] live forever!
16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.
Accepting Jesus to wash your feet is you confessing that He is your Saviour and Lord:
Romans 10:9-10 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
9 Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth, he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] Salvation.
Are you saying to Jesus and accepting, as Peter did, that He washes your feet? 👣 Then say this prayer:
Father, I come to you in the Name of Jesus. I know that I’m a sinner and cannot save myself. But Jesus died for me; He shed His blood that I might be saved; today, I accept Jesus as my personal Lord and saviour; forgive me all my sins, wash me with your blood and make me whole. I forsake the devil, the world and all sinful habits; I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Father, I thank you for saving me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Congratulations if you prayed that prayer.
“For by grace, you have been saved by faith. Nothing you did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the love gift from God that brought us to Christ! So no one will ever be able to boast, for salvation is never a reward for good works or human striving.” Ephesians 2:8-9 TPT
