The Gifts and The Fruit of the Spirit

“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: but all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:4-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such; there is no law.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Gifts of the Spirit and The Fruit of the Spirit have the same Source – the Holy Spirit. One is a Gift for a profit withal, and the other develops in yieldedness to the leading of the Holy Spirit and through Genuine Christianity. Lack of these Fruit will give you not only a questionable character but also a questionable Christianity. You can have the Gifts of the Spirit and still go to hell, but when you have the Fruit of the Spirit, the Bible says against such, there is no law.

There is greater assurance of making Heaven with having the Fruit of the Spirit, but if all you can show are the Gifts – you are not safe.

Any man peddling spiritual gifts to another is on a demonic assignment. Anyone not growing the fruit of the Spirit in their walk with Christ will not make it in Christianity.

The Holy Spirit, according to the Bible, gives Gifts to whomever He chooses. But there is also permission to desire the best of Gifts but from the Holy Spirit. Not from anyone not anywhere else.

“Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I believe the scripture below should serve as a guide and give us a sense of priority:

“But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul encouraged the desiring of the Gifts of the Spirit but then said I will show you a more excellent way: the more excellent way was in reference to one of the Fruit of the Spirit Love – Get your Bible out and read the whole of 1 Corinthians 13.

So let the Fruit of the Spirit be formed in you as you desire the Gifts of the Spirit. That is a more excellent way to enjoy Christianity on your way to Heaven.
