Isaiah 9:6
New Living Translation
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Philippians 4:6-8
New Living Translation
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. 8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy.
It is worthwhile sometimes to remind ourselves to be quiet inside and stay in that peaceful state so that we are always ready to hear the Lord’s voice.
Most times, we run from one thing to the next because our minds don’t know how to be still.
We just need to remind ourselves that we are human beings, and there are human doings; God being God and God doings.
No matter how much we think we know or how we know to do, we must understand that there are things that only God can do. There is nothing impossible with our God.
This Christmas, let’s remember that Jesus is the Prince of peace.
“There will never be peace in the world until there is peace in nations.
There will never be peace in nations until there is peace in communities.
There will never be peace in communities until there is peace in families.
There will never be peace in families until there is peace in individuals.
And there will never be peace in individuals until we invite the Prince of Peace to reign in our hearts. Jesus is the Prince of Peace.”
Let’s rest in the peace He gives…
God rest ye merry gentlemen and women,
Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ our Saviour
Was born on Christmas Day
To save us all from Satan’s power
When we were gone astray
Oh tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
Oh, tidings of comfort and joy.
Prayer:
Jehovah Shalom, please teach me how to enjoy your peace no matter the situation. Help me in this season and in the year to come to be quiet inside and to hear Your voice above the noises in this world. In Jesus the Prince of Peace Name, I pray. Amen!
