When You Know The Truth

When You Know The Truth

“You must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News.”
(Colossians 1:23a NLT).

When you discover the truth in God’s Word, there are four things you should do with it:

1. Believe the Truth.
Colossians 1:23 says, “You must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News” (NLT). Never allow it to be compromised. Stand firm in it. The Bible tells us to believe the truth and stand firmly in it. Do it. Truth is not just an intellectual exercise. It’s something you do. You practice it. You apply it. You live it out day by day.

2. Obey the Truth.
Before you start learning any other new truth, why don’t you obediently do the ones you already know? The Bible says in Philippians 3:16, “We must hold on to the progress we have already made.” Truth adds to you and your progress in life.

3. Stand for the Truth.
The Bible says we “must always stand for the truth” (2 Corinthians 13:8b). Don’t be ashamed in a postmodern world that says it doesn’t really matter. Even if you are the only one – be bold and courageous, Standing for truth. The Bible tells us our responsibility is never to oppose the truth but to stand for it at all times. We need to be people of truth; they are rare in this age.

4. Spread the Truth.
The Bible says in 3 John 1:8 that we “must support believers who go on trips like this so that we can work together with them in spreading the truth” (GW). What does that mean? That means you let the Holy Spirit show you where God is working, and you join Him there. It means you go when He tells you to go and serve where He tells you to serve. What are the projects in your church that you can support? What is the ministry God has called you to be a part of? Obey God in this so that you can help spread the truth.

The truth will always lead us where God needs us to go, and it will always tell us what is right in the face of deception. Titus 2:7 says, “Let everything you do reflect your love of the truth and the fact that you are in dead earnest about it” (TLB).

What are you going to do about the Truth that you know?

Do you know the Truth?

If you are not born again, you cannot begin to know the truth, and if you do not know the truth, you are bound.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth and Life. Knowing Jesus, who is Truth, makes you Free.

John 14:6
King James Version

John 8:32

Peradventure, you are not yet born again or doubtful that you are saved and rapture ready…

Romans 10:9-10 AMPC
…if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart, a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth, he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.
