Benefitting From Intimacy With God

Go with God, and God will go with you.

Judges 16:20

And she said The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.

Samson was so oblivious to the fact that God had departed from him because he himself had long ago departed from God.

It is a most terrible thing when all a Christian can boast of is the corporate experience of God, but he or she has no personal experience. For most, their relationship with God is kept to Sunday’s only. On any other day, God does not feature. That is dangerous when you are dealing with an enemy looking for an opportunity to kill, steal from, and destroy you (John 10:10); relentless predator seeking out an easy prey to devour.

1 Peter 5:8

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

Can you say for sure that God is with you, for you and that you are still in Christ beyond merely confessing it?

Do you have a living relationship with God?

God will always be committed to us beyond our commitment to Him because He is that Faithful. God is also Just (1 John 1:9), and He places a special favour upon those that are genuinely His that distinguishes them from those who are not servicing their relationship with Him.
All things work together for Good for those who love God (Romans 8:28).

Don’t be caught in the trap of the enemy like Samson was; he was so disconnected from God that he could not even perceive that God had departed from Him. And it was too late; he became prey for the enemy’s teeth (Psalm 124:6).

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Let’s work on our relationship with God. Continually review and refresh your intimacy with the Lord. Christianity is not mechanical; it is conscious and daily living in vital union and fellowship with the Lord.
