Merry Christmas, Cheer Up O My Soul and Bless the Lord!

Psalm 42:11 The Message
11 Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God—soon I’ll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God.

One of the major attacks of the enemy against many especially with all that has happened so far this year is an attack of moodiness.

Let’s take the example of David, through his spirit, exhorting his soul. We read of him doing so in Psalm 42. You will notice that David is speaking to his soul. This is not his soul speaking; it is his spirit speaking to his soul. The God-related part of him is speaking to the self-centered part of him.

Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God. (Psalm 42:11, NASB)

We see from this that the soul is moody. It is changeable, because it is related to itself and to the outside world. But the spirit that is related to God is not moody.

Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of rules about food and drink, but is in the realm of the HolySpirit, filled with righteousness, peace, and joy.

These 3 states of being (righteousness, peace and joy) in our regenerated spirit (for those of us who are born again) are to be permanent fixtures, if we would continually yield to the HolySpirit. In the realm of the Spirit these are not changeable. We are not meant to live a life of emotional highs and emotional lows in Christ.

David was obviously in a mood, possibly a mood of despair. When he wrote that Psalm. But his spirit says to his soul, “Come on, now. Shake yourself. It’s time to praise the Lord. Don’t give way to those moods.”

Mood swings, despair can be the enemy coming in like a flood and our response should not be, to give in nor to go under – overwhelmed by that demonic flood. Rather we are to yield to the HolyGhost every time and He will lift His standard against the enemy of our soul. Amen!

Isaiah 59:19 King James Version
So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

Righteousness, peace and joy are the standards of the workings of the Holy Spirit in our inner man.

Beloved make it a point not to allow any moodiness this Christmas, no matter what but cooperate with the Holy Spirit and you will be supplied with the Divine abilities that result in joy, calmness and a well-balanced mind. Amen!

2 Timothy 1:7 Amplified Bible
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].

Read the following scriptures aloud anytime the cloud of moodiness starts to form over you – threatening to swallow you up…lift up the standard of the HolySpirit whenever the enemy comes in like a flood.

Psalm 103:1-5 The Passion Translation
1 With my whole heart, with my whole life, and with my innermost being, I bow in wonder and love before you, the holy God!
2 Yahweh, you are my soul’s celebration. How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness you’ve done for me?
3 You kissed my heart with forgiveness, in spite of all I’ve done.
You’ve healed me inside and out from every disease.
4 You’ve rescued me from hell and saved my life. You’ve crowned me with love and mercy.
5 You satisfy my every desire with good things. You’ve supercharged my life so that I soar again
like a flying eagle in the sky!

Then do a dance, sing a new song unto the Lord and shout joyfully…let the attack of enemy against your soul backfire. Resist the devil and he will flee. Amen!

James 4:7 King James Version
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Psalm 98:4-6 Amplified Bible
4 Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Shout [in jubilation] and sing for joy and sing praises.
5 Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, With the lyre and the sound of melody.
6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn. Shout with joy before the King, the Lord.

Glory be to God in Highest!!!

Merry Christmas to you and your Kin:
Luke 2:9-14 New Living Translation
9 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, 10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Who are those whom God His pleased with?

Are you questioning if you are one of them?

Answer this question if you would please, are you saved?

John 3:16 The Passion Translation
For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.

John 3:16
God proved he loved the world by giving His Son Jesus and in believing him. By we recieve Salvation and regeneration. True faith has a number of components: acceptance, embracing as truth, union with God and his Word, and an inner confidence that God alone is enough. Amen!

Those whom God is pleased with are those who have their Salvation assured. Assurance of salvation is a state of being sure of your salvation.

John 3:3 King James Version
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Salvation cannot be assumed. You are either saved or not. There is nothing like being partially saved.

Salvation is a foundational matter without which you cannot progress in God nor fulfil your Divine destiny.

Psalm 11:3 King James Version
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Salvation is the first process of being joined to Christ.

So how do you get saved?

1.  Receive faith to be saved by hearing the word of God:
Romans 10:17 King James Version
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2.  You must Believe the word:
Romans 10:9-10 King James Version
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

3.  Receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour:
John 1:12-13 King James Version
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

4.  Confess that which you now believe:
Romans 10:10 King James Version
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

I will like to lead you in prayer if you are willing. If you want to give your life to Christ. Today is your day. Even if you were once born again but you fell away or if you are a returning backslider, coming back to your Father’s house. Welcome back…

Pray this prayer after me:

Dear Heavenly Father,
I realize I am a sinner with no living relationship with you. I acknowledge my sins before you and ask your pardon for these sins because of the work of your Son Jesus Christ. I repent and turn away from my sinful past now and ask you Lord Jesus to come into my heart now as my Lord and Saviour.
Thank you for doing it, Lord. (Amen)

Now go on and Act out your new life by faith: for by the Grace of God you are now Saved…Amen!

Ephesians 2:8-9 King James Version
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” – Bible.

Have a very Merry Christmas
