God’s Pound & Qualifying for My Reward
Jeremiah 30:19 King James Version (KJV)
19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
– God is a God of multiplication.
– God loves to multiply.
– God delights in us when we demonstrate His nature in us and multiply what He has committed into our hands.
Thy Pound Hath Gained Ten Pounds:
Luke 19:12-27 (KJV)
12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
John 3:16
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16 AMP
That God had given Jesus makes everyone in the world a benefactor of Grace. The choice to accept or reject this offer divides every person in the world into 2 groups:
Group A. Those who will perish because they do not have the eternal life (Do not accept Jesus)
Group B. Those who shall not perish because they have eternal life. (Accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord).
In Luke 19: 12-27 we can also see that 2 groups of people were highlighted:
1. Those that hate God. Those who do not accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord.
Luke 19:14, 27 KJV
14*But his citizens (benefactors of Grace) hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.*
– They are not carriers of Grace. – They are not given the Pound. Such will be judged for their hatred of God and their refusal of Christ Jesus will attract to themselves death and damnation.
27*But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.*
2. Everyone that accepts Jesus as Saviour and Lord. The carriers of Grace. These are the ones given the Pound.
Luke 19:13 KJV
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
Luke 19:13 AMP
So he called ten of his servants, and gave them ten minas [one apiece, each equal to about a hundred days’ wages] and said to them, ‘Do business [with this] until I return.’
1. What is The Pound (minas)?
The Pound is whatever God had given you and I that we would be required to give an account for:
– The Grace of God and all that Grace has wrought for us.
– The Calling (A Divine Summon).
– Divine Assignments.
– Our life: which is Christ’s.
– Our Body: The Temple of the Holy Spirit.
– Our Seed (Given by God).
– Ministry.
– Responsibilities.
– Empowerments.
– Holy Spirit in us.
– The Word of God that we know.
– Application of Faith.
– Impartations.
– Husband: your wive.
– Wive: As a virtuous woman: your home
– Parents: your children.
– Gifts and talents.
Etc.
2. It is Critical that we have the following understanding about the Pound:
– The Pound was given by God with no grounds for refusal. It is an act of God’s Sovereignty over His own.
– The Pound is from God and belongs to God.
– God did not give the Pound to us so that we can help Him hide it away nor for safe keeping. “He that keeps Israel does not sleep nor slumber”.
– We are to be highly responsible, accountable stewards of the Pound.
– We must handle the Pound with reverence as unto God.
– The Pound has the potential to multiply. If the Pound is not multiplied, it’s not the Pounds fault.
– We are expected to do something with the Pound, no excuse is permitted.
– You may hand it over to someone else who could help you multiply it, however this is the lowest expectation from God. It is non-rewardable.
3. The Implications of Being given a Pound*
– We will be required to give an account for it.
– Our handling of the Pound qualifies us or disqualifies us before God.
– The Pound was given with the expectation from God for us to multiply it ×10 preferably, ×5 minimum. Not added to but multiplied. We are to produce much more with the same Pound.
– Doing something with the Pound or not is never about you nor I doing God a favour.
*God is always looking for reasons and ways to bless us and to favour us…the Pound given by Him out of the benevolence of His love is such*.
– Our work in multiplying the Pound is not to purchase the favour of God. But how well we do with it will attract God’s favour and determine how well He chooses to reward us.
– To do nothing with the Pound is to fail in life, destiny and calling.
– It is possible to have the Pound taken away and given to another who can have done better and will do better with it…one that had made maximum impact with his Pound.
– If a Pound is given to one who achieves 10 Pounds more, such will go on to have 200 Pounds more…not 11 pounds more:
*Divine Multiplication*
1 will now Divinely Automatically be 10 in his hand (10 Pounds becomes the minimum 1 Pound can obtain)…so he now has 20, (with the 1 he has been given in addition) and because is now operating under the x10 Anointing 20 × 10 more = 200 Pounds.
– One who does nothing with the Pound he had been given is considered as neither hot nor cold. Distasteful to God.
– One who does nothing with the Pound given him will have no eternal reward.
– One who does nothing with the Pound given to him will have zero rating before God in life and in destiny.
4. How well we handle the Pound and make profit for God with it will be determined by:
– How well we know God’s Word.
– How well we are responding to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
– How much we fear God and reverence Him.
– How much we desire to please God. *We were created for His pleasure. Not our pleasure.*
– Willingness to do the will of God.
– How much we truly know God in intimacy as God Almighty and a Faithful Father.
– How much Determination we put into our Divine Assignment. No half-hearted service, nor half done projects.
– How much focus we have on the goal…pressing on to the Higher ground. Forward ever, backward never pressing on to the higher ground.
– Our high desire and drive for accuracy.
Aim to get things right and to not stop getting better.
– Determination to not repeat the same mistakes.
– How well we apply our faith… speaking God’s word, and doing God’s word. Obedience to the terms and conditions of the law of faith: hear it, speak what you believe and do according to the Divine instruction received.
– Readiness to take small steps. Willingness to take the first steps.
– How much work we are willing to do from Grace. To not work from Grace is actually wasting Grace. We do not work to obtain Grace it is a Divine gift. But what and how much we do with the Grace we carry is of great importance.
– Getting the Business and Ministry side of our lives right. There is work to do in the Kingdom. God has given power to make wealth. The blessing of God makes rich and adds no sorrow. God will have us wealthy (healthy and rich)…and we must meet all our obligations to the Church with gratitude to God.
– How much stretching we allow. We are soldiers of Christ. God brings us into various levels of training and how well we respond to that training will make us meet for use by God. Made into a Divinely sharpened instrument; Prophetic, Effective and Productive.
– How much Capacity we build within. To whom much is given much is expected.
God helps us to develop capacity. Preparing us for what He had prepared for us. Failure to develop to the full Capacity to Carry all He has for us would mean we are operating below capacity.
– How much Risk we are willing to take: There is a risk we must never try to avoid. The risk of pleasing God at the risk of displeasing man or the devil. Where you are to stand for God we must do so with all boldness. Anyone who denies Christ before men, Christ shall deny before God.
– How much and how far we can see. Opportunities come but how well we do with them is dependent on what we see. Opportunities are missed because we fail to see. Oh that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened so that we may know in Jesus Name.
Critical Evaluations:
1. What is that Pound given to you?
2. What are you doing with it?
3. What will you do with it?
4. What have you done with it?
5. Are you a 10 more Pounder?
6. Are you a 5 more Pounder?
7. Are you a 1 Pounder?
8. Now that you have an understanding the implications of not making a maximum impact as a 10 Pounder would…what would you do differently and better?
We must Never forget that God rewards the Diligent.
