The message I am about to share with you is a personal revelation that I recieved about marriage and I strongly believe that the illustration would be a blessing to you in life and marriage.
Are you looking forward to getting married, are you effectively preparing for it and learning all you need to know? Don’t go into marriage as a novice.
Are you married and you seem not to be enjoying your marriage, maybe there are some critical things you don’t know and you must know before your marriage can get better?
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…
Hosea 4:6a KJV
Many are yet to fully grasp the true meaning of marriage. Everything some know about marriage is mostly misinformation or are built on the foundation of selfishness. There are also those category of people that seek to get married so as to fulfil their fleshly desires. But a marriage that wants to be truly successful must be subjected to the wisdom of God.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Genesis 2:24 KJV
And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Mark 10:8-9 KJV
THE MYSTERY OF TWO BECOMING ONE
“And they twain shall become one flesh (Mark 10:8 KJV)”: Marriage is like the coming together of the sperm and the ovum to form a baby. The forming is effectively permanent. After the baby has been formed; the sperm and the ovum no longer exist as singular entities. The sperm can not say to the ovum “I am no longer interested in this union, so let’s go our separate ways”. That is absolutely impossible. The baby formed permanently sealed the union. Initially the sperm and ovum can be recognized as separate entities but now they are essentially one. This is plan of God for marriages that He has Divinely ordained for love, life and destiny. Every marriage union under God has God’s permanent seal of approval. The permanence of marriage is such that a separation would lead only to destruction or death.
Every marriage most grow and develop: This baby that had been formed must be birthed, there may be labour pains and labour pains do not last for long. “Only a cruel mother would abort her pregnancy because of labour pains”. The baby would need proper nourishment for growth and development till it attains maturity, so also would your marriage need nurturing to grow, develop and mature. With the help of God it is not an impossible thing nor a fairytale to live with your spouse from the inception happily to a happily ever after married life, but it does not happen in a day. A blessed marriage goes through processing. And it is a processing that needs the willing contribution and a full commited participation of the husband and wife. A happy married life does not happen for those who refuse to put any work or effort into their marriage.
WHAT GOD HAS JOINED TOGETHER LET NO MAN PUT ASUNDER
“What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder (Mark 10:9 KJV)”:
Marriage is about two selfless people who love each other unconditionally and like each other fervently whilst staying connected to God Who is Love personified.
Divorce or Separation Was Never Part of God’s original plan:
And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him. And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Mark 10:2-7, 9 KJV
Divorce was never God’s plan to solve challenges in marriages. But was an unwilling Divine permission for the safety of those who Satan had taken over their marriage and the only experience they were having is stealing, killing and destruction. A hardiness of heart towards a spouse is a demonic entry point and the permission for satan to wreck a marriage and a home. When a marriage is truly and fully submitted to God, it opens up Divine entry points, it enjoys Divine assistance and Divine favours. A marriage that is submitted to the will and purposes of God is a life-giving marriage.
Are you single? Then surrender yourself absolutely to God and His will. Ask Him to prepare you and make you ready for your spouse, then wait on God patiently in holiness, with a healthy expectancy and unwavering faith.
Do you already have a spouse? Ask God for the grace and wisdom to enjoy your marriage the way He designed it to be lived and enjoyed. Actively live to please God in all you do, putting your spouse first in all you do in LOVE.
Whether you are married or not, whether you’ve been married for decades or few days; never be ashamed nor be too proud to go to God and ask Him to empty you of everything that you think you know about marriage but is incorrect and against His will. Tell Him that you genuinely want His Spirit to teach you what you do not know and what you need to know about marriage. Ask to be filled with divine wisdom that required for success in marriage.
I pray that your marriage will be has God had ordained it to be. In Jesus Name. Amen!
