The Thoughts You Take To Think On

On my way to work 2 Bible verses Matthew 6:31-33 and Philippians 4:8 were Divinely highlighted in my spirit and I immediately knew that there was a message coming from God.

As I thought about these Bible verses; I wondered if God was calling my attention to something about my recent experiences. You see, lately I have found myself thinking thoughts and musing a lot. Sometimes I would give voice to those thoughts and at other times I just quietly mused.

As the Holy Spirit inspired and I recieved the message I am about to share with you, I was also given my answer of peace on many matters. I am hoping that this message would bless you too as much as it has blessed me. So, please read on…

Matthew 6:31-33 (KJV)
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Philippians 4:8 (KJV)
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

There were specific lines from these sciptures that were highlighted to me:
– “Take no thought saying”
– “Think on these things”

“Take no thought saying”
Matthew 6: 31a “Therefore take no thought saying…”

1. For you to take a thing it has to be first offered. Thoughts are offered.

2. You have a responsibility to know who is making you an offer of a thought.

3. Offer of thoughts can come
– from God,
– from man
– and from the devil.

4. You are going to have to decide who you are going to receive an offer of thought from.

5. There will be many offers of thoughts and you have the right and responsibility to accept the thoughts you want and to reject the ones you do not want.

6. Thoughts are taken or accepted by saying.

7. Thoughts can be rejected or not taken also by saying.

8. The thoughts you take and from whom you take it will determine:
– your mindset and lifestyle
– who you become in life
– what you get from life
– and how far you go in life.

9. The thoughts you take reflects the standard you’ve conformed to.

10. The thoughts we take determine the eventuality of our life.

“Think on these things”
Philippians 4:8 (KJV)…think on these things.

God knowing that we His children are thinking creatures, has done us the greatest favour of recommending what we should think about and also think on.

To think on is to muse, ponder, consider, think over/about, mull over, reflect on, 
contemplate, deliberate, 
turn over in one’s mind, 
chew over, weigh up, 
meditate on, ruminate over/on, 
brood on, give some thought to, 
cogitate on, 
evaluate, examine, study, review; 
think on, debate with oneself, be lost in contemplation/thought, daydream, be in a reverie about.

And here is the Divine recommendation of things to think on:

1. whatsoever things are true,
2. whatsoever things are honest,
3. whatsoever things are just,
4. whatsoever things are pure,
5. whatsoever things are lovely,
6. whatsoever things are of good report; 7. if there be any virtue,
8. and if there be any praise,
…think on these things.

It would do us a great good if we would put every thought through these 8 tests. For every one of your thought that pass these tests, you will definitely profit from thinking on that thought.

I have tested some of the thoughts that had come to my mind and I can assure you that if you would sincerely test your thoughts too, you would discover as I did that no demonic thought from the devil, nor negative thoughts from men can pass the test. The only thoughts I have found to pass with flying colours are the thoughts that God offered me through the reading of the Bible, through words from the Holy Spirit and words from the hearing a correct preaching or teaching.

As I have already highlighted, you can decide what thoughts you want to take by speaking those thoughts or by saying them to your own hearing and for all to hear.

“When we say our thoughts we are transporting words from the soul realm, through the spiritual realm and into the physical realm”.

When thought as words appear in the spiritual realm, depending on who offered you that thought in the first place, it would attract a Divine response from God or demonic response from the devil.
The response from God is righteousness, peacefulness and joyous life in abundance. But the response from the devil is condemnation, deception, rabid stealing, ferocious killing and devastating destruction.

Proverbs 4:23‭-‬24 GNB
Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts. Never say anything that isn’t true. Have nothing to do with lies and misleading words.

We will do well to guard our thoughts diligently and keep vigilance over what we say. It is safer and wiser not to take (entertain) unrighteous thought but if you do, please don’t give the devil permission to use it against you by saying (voicing it).

Do well to cancel any and every evil thought you have ever spoken. And as you take that that step to cancel them I agree with you in faith that any demonic effect that has been set in motion comes to an end in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!

The devil has no permission to cause havoc in the life of a child of God, except he is given permission. And he can only get that permission from God as in the case of Job;
The Lord told Satan, “Everything he has is in your power, but you must not lay a hand on him!” Then Satan left the Lord ’s presence (Job 1:12 GW) or from us if we would take the thought he has given us and we say it.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8 KJV): there are two statements that I would like you to note and understand very well this scripture:

1. As (like) a roaring lion: the devil pretends to be a lion, having the superficial attributes but he is an absolutely false lion. The devil can dramatize as if he is powerful but he is no way compared to The Lord our God, Who is the Authentic All-Powerful, Almighty Lion of the tribe of Judah. The devil can come like a flood but he is stopped in his tracks by the standard of the Holy Spirit. Glory be to God.

2. Seeking whom he may devour: if I were to paraphrase that it would read as “trying to find who would give him the permission”. Essentially permission as to be given before the devil can move against a man. I strongly implore you again, “please do not give him permission by taking thoughts from him by saying”, “don’t give him any allowance by thinking on the thought he offers you”. And I believe God will help you in Jesus Name.

I pray that no one reading and receiving this message would become a prey of the devil through the wrong thinking and wrong saying. Receive the Grace to take righteous thoughts, and think on righteous thoughts and speak righteous thoughts as righteous words that attract Divine favour in Jesus Name. Amen!

Truth be told: if you are not born-again. If Jesus Christ is not your Saviour and Lord, you are already a prey of the devil, and your thoughts and words would be easily be influenced by the devil.

The god of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. As a result, they don’t see the light of the Good News about Christ’s glory. It is Christ who is God’s image.
2 Corinthians 4:4 GW

But I have good news for you…hope is not lost. You can be saved and delivered.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
John 8:36 KJV

I need Jesus and you need Jesus. I have asked Jesus into my heart and He has transformed my life for the better. I am experiencing my God given dreams becoming a reality daily. I am existing in the realm of divine possibilities. Jesus can usher you like He did me into same existence of eternal possibilities and a life of dreams becoming a reality.

It is very true that there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].” (ACTS 4:12 AMP). Salvation through Christ Jesus is free but you must make the decision to receive it. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NLT).

If you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation. (ROMANS 10:9‭-‬10 AMP)

Now pray this prayer meaningfully if you would: “Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept You out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear You knocking. By faith I gratefully receive Your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe You are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank You for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe Your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Saviour. Amen”.

Congratulations if you’ve just said that prayer and I joyously welcome you to the higher life in Christ Jesus. You are now on the path of your divine destiny and your God given dreams are very possible. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
