Wait Out the Discomfort

It was a Tuesday morning I had boarded the train to Waterloo. All the seats on the train were occupied and I had to stand up leaning against the door that had a window. It was warm and sunny and I started feeling really hot and sweaty specifically on the back of my neck. I thought to myself, I don’t like this and I should move. Then I heard the Holy Spirit say don’t move you’re going to enter a tunnel soon and there would be no sun ray, no sweating…

He was very correct as always. I thought about it afterwards that I would have changed location to actually go and squeeze myself in a tight space somewhere, remember I said there were no more seats and the train was packed and not only would I have sweated from the neck but from all over. Where I was was roomier and I could lean against a solid surface so has to rest if I needed to. But I was going to give all that up because of a little discomfort.

“Don’t allow a little discomfort push you off the course of God for your life”.

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.
1 Peter 5:10 AMPC

The actions we take to correct discomfort can be subtle that it would seem that one is just making a calculated decision leading you to:

1. Change location
2. Change position

Any change at all from the original is no longer precise, is an alternative, is a fake and a lot of inaccuracies.

The danger of Changing location when God has not told you to:
What if the location that your blessing was sent to also had the needed atmospheric spiritual and physical conditions that is required for that blessing to manifest?

Or maybe the Angel sent to deliver the blessing to you was given specific coordinates has to locate you in the location that discomfort had driven you away from?

Changing Position:
Our position should be righteous every time. The position we take on any matter must be in accordance with the the Truth of God’s Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit. We must be diligent as not to let any discomfort make us change this position.

God does not relate to us through conveniences but through our obedience to His instructions and directions which are always for our benefit.

Are you finding that escaping from discomfort or the chase of convenience is making you miss out on opportunities? Let that negative experience go no further. Dear God Almighty let the standard of the Holy Spirit be raised against it. In Jesus Name.

So [as the result of the Messiah’s intervention] they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives]. [Matt. 8:11; Luke 13:29.]

I am not telling you to simply settle for any discomfort or to never desire any situation that is convenient. But that you should henceforth ask the Holy Spirit what you should do and pay attention to His response. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Wisdom He will never lead you wrong. He is the Spirit of accuracy: helping you to get it right everytime.

But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
John 14:26 AMPC

More on enjoying the help of the Holy Spirit:

I was returning from work on the train engrossed with with putting finishing touches to this message. I paid no attention to the stations we had passed, it was only when we had reached my stop that the Holy Spirit prompted me to look up and I came to a Divinely assisted realisation that I needed to get off the train. Now this is not to encourage anyone to be careless. But know this where genuine gaps are created on the journeys of our life and destiny the Holy Spirit bridges the gap. Glory be to God most high!

But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].

If the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Truth) tells you to stay on, stay put, stand still or keep quiet…and it is feels not so comfortable, as long as it is definitely the Holy Spirit who gave the you the instruction please respond with utter obedience and you can be rest assured that there is a greater purpose at play and your obedience to is His instruction will work out for your good in the end.

We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

It is very important to note that you cannot enjoy the operations of the Holy Spirit except you are in vital relationship with Jesus Christ.

Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation. The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed. [Ps. 34:22; Isa. 28:16; 49:23; Jer. 17:7.]

Jesus speaking said:
However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment: About sin, because they do not believe in Me [trust in, rely on, and adhere to Me]; About righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God), because I go to My Father, and you will see Me no longer; About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world [Satan] is judged and condemned and sentence already is passed upon him. Do you want to be born-again?
