The Truth You Know Will Make You Free
Romans 10:9-10 AMP…if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and, in your heart, believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.JOHN 14:6 AMP
“I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me”.
John 8:32 (KJV)
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Would you take offence if someone told you, “you are living a lie”. If yes, why?
Well maybe no one really wants to live a lie and possibly if people realised they were living a lie they would turn to (learn what is true) the truth?
What would it mean to live a lie? To live a lie would mean living a life that is devoid of truth. Most often times people do not even know that they are living a lie because they have never known the truth, so they are lacking in the ability to identify a lie, as they do not have the truth (know the truth) to compare with and so have no understanding that there is actually a difference.
When truth is lacking, there are certain demonic operations (permissions given to the devil to operate unchallenged) that would be possible;
1. Blinding
2. Binding
The blinding is a demonic operation – Remember the devil is the father of lies, he knows the truth but hates the truth and the Word of God said that he is the god of the system of the world who blinds the eye of the mind of men.
John 8:44 Amplified Bible (AMP) 44 You are of your father the devil, and it is your will to practice the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar and the father of lies and half-truths.
2 Corinthians 4:4 Amplified Bible (AMP) 4 among them the god of this world [Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelieving to prevent them from seeing the illuminating light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. A blind person is limited in perception and understanding; even his or her movement is not like the sure steps of someone that could see clearly. The devil uses “the blinding” like a stronghold – preventing the blinded from seeking the truth and preventing the truth from being seen by his captives. The blinded is in a perpetual darkness so much so that such would consider darkness as the norm.
The Gospel of Jesus brings light that darkness cannot comprehend; a great supernatural light, that can pierce the thickest darkness, that the satanically blinded can see should they want to and/or be drawn to come into it. Truth is light but the blind must know (accept) it as light for them to enjoy all the divine benefits it brings.
Isaiah 9:2 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC) 2 The people who walked in darkness have seen a great Light; those who dwelt in the land of intense darkness and the shadow of death, upon them has the Light shined.
John 1:5 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC) 5 And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].
Jesus who is the Truth is also the light:
JOHN 14:6 AMP
“I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me”.
John 8:12 English Standard Version (ESV) 12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Another operation of a lie is the binding. This is way worse than the blinding; which is more of an external effect causing an internal reaction.
The binding is an internal effect directing an external reaction. The bound person loses all ability to see, seek and understand the truth. The bound is also blinded…the blinded-bound effect presents itself as a demonic possession and only biblical, anointed deliverance can save such.
The blinded-bound are in 2 categories those existing as demonic agents, they appear normal but revolt against anything linked to Jesus Christ;
Saul of Tarsus was blinded-bound-appearing normal:
Acts 8:3 Amplified Bible (AMP) 3 But Saul began ravaging the church [and assaulting believers]; entering house after house and dragging off men and women, putting them in prison.
And the other group are those who do not appear normal and behave in such a way as if something else is in control of all their senses like the madman of Gadara and the boy with the epileptic like condition:
Luke 8:26-30 King James Version (KJV) 26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. 27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. 29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) 30 And Jesus asked him, saying, what is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
The blinded-bound must first undergo deliverance before the Truth as light can be understood. That is why it is not everyone that can simply receive the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and why prayer, fasting and the leading of the Holy Ghost is paramount for an effective evangelism.
Matthew 17:15-21 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC) 15 Lord, do pity and have mercy on my son, for he has epilepsy (is moonstruck) and he suffers terribly; for frequently he falls into the fire and many times into the water. 16 And I brought him to Your disciples, and they were not able to cure him. 17 And Jesus answered, O you unbelieving (warped, wayward, rebellious) and thoroughly perverse generation! How long am I to remain with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to Me. 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was cured instantly. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked privately, why could we not drive it out? 20 He said to them, Because of the littleness of your faith [that is, your lack of firmly relying trust]. For truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. 21 But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.
The Truth has the divine backing to prevail against a lie. The Gospel of Jesus Christ ministered to those blinded or bound in Words and the Power of the Holy Ghost is the only saving Grace from the blindness of mind and binding of the spirit of man by the devil.
Luke 4:18-19 King James Version (KJV) 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.This is the same Spirit of the Lord that Christians must carry into evangelism, preaching the Truth and Light of Jesus Christ that has the power make the poor rich, make the broken-hearted healed, that can deliver captives, give recovery of sight to the blind, and give liberty to bound and bruised.Jesus Christ; the way, the truth, the light and the life is the only one given the power by God to make those spiritual bound to be free and they will be free indeed.
John 8:36 Amplified Bible (AMP) 36 So if the Son (Jesus Christ) makes you free, then you are unquestionably free.
Crunch time: Doing a self-evaluation, ask yourself this question; “am I living the truth or am I living a lie”?
If Jesus is not your Saviour and Lord the Truth is that you have been living a lie, and the devil has mastery over you. But you if you would accept the Truth by making a conscious decision:
Romans 10:9-11 Amplified Bible (AMP) 9 because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Saviour] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him [whoever adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] will not be disappointed [in his expectations].”
Are you ready to be born-again? If your answer is yes, then Pray this prayer meaningfully: “Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Saviour. Amen”.

About the Truth:
1. No matter how tightly you wrap up the Truth one day it will unfold.
2. You cannot successfully hide the truth for long. It is not possible to hide light in the dark.
3. People who are afraid of Truth will first try to cover it up and when it is eventually exposed, they’ll try to deny it.
4. Jesus is The Truth…any truth that does not have its source or origin in Him is nothing but a fraud and a-big-fat-lie.
5. The truth when respected brings great honour…when truth is disrespected great shame is a sure eventuality.

7. The root of Truth is deep and holds firmly. The root of a lie is short and brittle, when shaken it easily comes loose.
8. The fruit of Truth can seem bitter on the surface, but within it is juicy and very sweet. On the surface a lie is disguised as sweet and juicy but within is a foul smell, full of mould and decay.
9. Truth has no hidden agenda.
10. Speak the Truth always and it will make you free. Start Speaking the Truth and it will set you free.
11. A lie seeks only to enslave a man but Truth is liberating.
12. A lie will make you a servant of another lie, then another lie and another lie… Only the truth can make you free.
A warning for Christians
Finally; beware of Professional Liars do not fall prey to them and neither should you seek to be one of them:
1 Timothy 4:1-10 MSG
The Spirit makes it clear that as time goes on, some are going to give up on the faith and chase after demonic illusions put forth by professional liars. These liars have lied so well and for so long that they’ve lost their capacity for truth. They will tell you not to get married. They’ll tell you not to eat this or that food—perfectly good food God created to be eaten heartily and with thanksgiving by believers who know better! Everything God created is good, and to be received with thanks. Nothing is to be sneered at and thrown out. God’s Word and our prayers make every item in creation holy. You’ve been raised on the Message of the faith and have followed sound teaching. Now pass on this counsel to the followers of Jesus and you’ll be a good servant of Jesus. Stay clear of silly stories that get dressed up as religion. Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever. You can count on this. Take it to heart. This is why we’ve thrown ourselves into this venture so totally. We’re banking on the living God, Saviour of all men and women, especially believers.
