Psalm 121:1-2 KJV I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Hebrews 4:16 AMPC
Title: Are You Using All Your Strength (All the Help available to you)?
A boy and his dad went to the farm one day and the dad gave the boy an axe and told him to cut down as many big trees as he could. The boy was a strong lad and fell the first 2 trees quite easily, but by the time he got to the third tree he started losing strength and was not hitting quite as hard anymore. The dad said to him, “son, you are not using all your strength”! The boy raised the axe to hit the tree harder but try as he may he could not cut down any more trees. The dad said to him again “son, you are not using all your strength”! At the words of his father the boy was upset and replied his dad, with tears in his eyes; “dad what do you mean, I have used up all my strength and I am so tired”. The dad smiled, patting him on the back and said “son, you did not ask me to help you”.
John 3:16 AMP 16 “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Saviour] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
1 John 4:19 AMP We love, because [a]He first loved us.
God loves us beyond our memory serves us sometimes, that anyone would think that God is a cruel God as to seat back and prefer that His children suffer without offering “Help” except it be according to His will and for a greater purpose (e.g Lazarus, Jesus…) and even in that let us have this understanding that it takes a lot to watch the one you love suffer… God has not left us His children helpless in life, He is always working in the favour of His own to make a way out for them where there seems to be no way.
1 Corinthians 10:13 J.B. Phillips No temptation has come your way that is too hard for flesh and blood to bear. But God can be trusted not to allow you to suffer any temptation beyond your powers of endurance. He will see to it that every temptation has a way out, so that it will never be impossible for you to bear it.
There are matters in life where we can easily default to natural help, but the weightier matters of life require Divine involvement.
Zechariah 4:6 KJV Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, this is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
Not by might, nor by power because in the scope and make up of humanity there are limits. But there is an unlimited power that God would have us have access to.
Psalm 20:7 AMP 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, But we will remember and trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Remember (Faith in) the “Name” of the Lord our God (depicting relationship of love, care and concern His unending ability to help). Life at times get a bit too stormy, but in the midst of the storm it does us well to remember the Almighty God, the I am that I am, Who had promised to never leave not forsake us.
Hebrews 4:16 KJV
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
2 Chronicles 26:15 AMP
15 b. “Uzziah…And his fame spread far, for he was marvellously helped until he was strong.
God has given access to many helps but one Helper to his children, to those who are joint heirs with Christ Jesus – who have been born-again; by accepting in their heart by faith and confessing with their mouth Jesus as their Saviour and Lord.
Romans 10:10-13 King James Version (KJV)10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.11 For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
If you are in Christ Jesus – you may boldly declare “I am marvellously helped“!
Romans 8:32 New International Version (NIV)
32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Psalm 121:1-2 King James Version (KJV)121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
I will lift up my eyes up to the Hill, For whence (from there) comes my help, my help comes from the Lord the Creator of Heaven and earth.
I am making a decision to not be moved by what I see and I am focusing on an elevated point of view in God, looking away from what is not a picture of the life I know God has destined for His children, to focus on Him who is He who is the way, the truth and life. The author and finisher of my faith: “My Helper”.
Let’s have a look at some of the helps that God the Creator of Heaven and earth, has made available to us His Children:
1. The Name of Jesus Philippians 2:10-11 New King James Version (NKJV)10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Acts 4:11-13 Amplified Bible (AMP)11 This Jesus is the stone which was despised and rejected by you, the builders, but which became the [a]chief Cornerstone. 12 And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].”
John 16:24 New International Version (NIV)
24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
John 14:13-14 New International Version (NIV)
13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Sin.
14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
2. The Blood of Jesus Hebrews 12:24 King James Version (KJV)24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
3. The Stripes of Jesus Isaiah 53:5 New King James Version (NKJV)But He was wounded[a] for our transgressions, He was [b]bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes[c] we are healed. Footnotes:a. Isaiah 53:5 Or pierced throughb. Isaiah 53:5 crushedc. Isaiah 53:5 Blows that cut in.
4. The Word of God Hebrews 4:12 – For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Jeremiah 23:29 – [Is] not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer [that] breaketh the rock in pieces?
Matthew 4:4 – But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Ephesians 6:17 – And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
5. Our submission to God James 4:7 King James Version (KJV)Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
6. The Whole Amour of God Ephesians 6:11-18 King James Version (KJV)11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
7. The Anointing upon the 5-fold office and the gifts of the Spirit operational in the life of a genuine minister of God: Ephesians 4:11-13 King James Version (KJV) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ
1 Corinthians 12:7-11 New International Version (NIV)
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b] 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
8. The Prayer of the Elders in a Church James 5:14-15 King James Version (KJV)14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
9. The prayer of Faith/ Faith when we speak…Mark 11:23 King James Version (KJV) 23 For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
10. The prayer of the Righteous James 5:16 Amplified Bible (AMP)16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offences], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].
11. Angels of God Psalm 91:11-12 New King James Version (NKJV)11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.12 In their hands they shall [a]bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
Hebrews 1:14 Amplified Bible (AMP)14 Are not all the angels ministering spirits sent out [by God] to serve (accompany, protect) those who will inherit salvation? [Of course, they are!]
12. The Promises of God Isaiah 55:11 New King James Version (NKJV)So, shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me [a]void, but it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Numbers 23:19 King James Version (KJV)God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Psalm 138:2 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)I will worship toward Thy holy temple and praise Thy name for Thy loving-kindness and for Thy truth, for Thou hast magnified Thy word above all Thy name.
Hebrews 6:17-18 King James Version (KJV)17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.
The first immutable thing, is that every word of God is true. He spoke a promise to Abraham, and that promise was as good as fulfilled, since it is impossible for God to lie. God’s word is immutable, once spoken. It not simply that God won’t change His mind … His promise is not capable of or susceptible to change. He cannot change His mind. The second immutable thing, is that God further confirmed His promise with an oath, in which He swore by Himself, since there is no one greater than Himself.
13. Divine Prophecies 2 Peter 1:21 The Message (MSG) 19-21 We couldn’t be more sure of what we saw and heard—God’s glory, God’s voice. The prophetic Word was confirmed to us. You’ll do well to keep focusing on it. It’s the one light you have in a dark time as you wait for daybreak and the rising of the Morning Star in your hearts. The main thing to keep in mind here is that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of private opinion. And why? Because it’s not something concocted in the human heart. Prophecy resulted when the Holy Spirit prompted men and women to speak God’s Word.
14. Divine Covenants Hebrews 8:6 Amplified Bible (AMP) 6 But as it is, Christ has acquired a [priestly] ministry which is more excellent [than the old Levitical priestly ministry], for He is the Mediator (Arbiter) of a better covenant [uniting God and man], which has been enacted and rests on better promises.
Hebrews 9:15 Amplified Bible (AMP)15 For this reason He is the Mediator and Negotiator of a new covenant [that is, an entirely new agreement uniting God and man], so that those who have been called [by God] may receive [the fulfilment of] the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has taken place [as the payment] which redeems them from the sins committed under the obsolete first covenant.
Hebrews 9:22 Amplified Bible (AMP)22 In fact under the Law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness [neither release from sin and its guilt, nor cancellation of the merited punishment].
15. The Gathering with Fellow Believers Hebrews 10:25 Amplified Bible (AMP)25 not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching.
Psalm 133:1-3 Amplified Bible (AMP) 133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity!2 It is like the precious oil [of consecration] poured on the head, Coming down on the beard, Even the beard of Aaron, Coming down upon the edge of his [priestly] robes [consecrating the whole body].3 It is like the dew of [Mount] Hermon Coming down on the hills of Zion; For there the Lord has commanded the blessing: life forevermore.
16. Friends that stick closer than a brother (David and Jonathan)
Proverbs 18:24 New King James Version (NKJV)
24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly,
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
17. For the married – your Spouse (An Help Meet)
Genesis 2:18 King James Version (KJV)
18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Proverbs 18:22 New King James Version (NKJV)22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favour from the Lord.
Ephesians 5:22-28 The Message (MSG)22-24 Wives, understand and support your husbands in ways that show your support for Christ. The husband provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to his church, not by domineering but by cherishing. So just as the church submits to Christ as he exercises such leadership, wives should likewise submit to their husbands.
25-28 Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church—a love marked by giving, not getting. Christ’s love makes the church whole. His words evoke her beauty. Everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her, dressing her in dazzling white silk, radiant with holiness. And that is how husbands ought to love their wives. They’re really doing themselves a favour—since they’re already “one” in marriage.
The helps God has made available to us His Children is indeed numerous as you have seen.
And there is only One Vital Helper…that we cannot and must not do without.
Please read on…
When Christians talk about individual salvation, we tend to focus on Jesus Christ and his work. And of course this is a fine thing to do. But it’s also important to recognize the role the Holy Spirit plays.
Understanding what the Holy Spirit does in the believer makes for the fullest possible Christian life. The Holy Spirit motivates us, and that’s a key understanding, to realize that both the desire and the power to live for Christ comes from the Holy Spirit. This is part of that rich understanding of what the Holy Spirit does for us, that he’s the one who illumines us to understand the word of God. He is the one who gives us the spiritual appetites for the things of God, that we hunger for God, for the things of God, that we love the people of God, that we want to serve God. That takes a lot of the pressure off the individual. It takes a lot of pressure off the person of thinking: “It’s all up on my shoulders, God has told me what to do, now it’s up to me to do it, it’s up to me to obey.” Well, we do have the responsibility. God doesn’t obey for us, but we acknowledge that he does give us the desire and the power, the insight. It’s all to His glory. – Dr. Donald Whitney
The Helper
John 16:7-10 Amplified Bible (AMP) 7 But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor— Counsellor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. 8 And He, when He comes, will convict the world about [the guilt of] sin [and the need for a Saviour], and about righteousness, and about judgement: 9 about sin [and the true nature of it], because they do not believe in Me [and My message]; 10 about righteousness [personal integrity and godly character], because I am going to My Father and you will no longer see Me.
I am not sure if Christians have ever considered the awesomeness of this verses. Jesus said “it is to your advantage that I go away”: 1. So that the Helper can come to you – The Helper that would bring us greater advantages than the presence of Jesus had ever given us. 2. An assurance that no child of God (Born again and Spirit filled) is ever at a disadvantage. 3. Jesus confirmed in these verses the expectation and the reality of the Disciples and everyone receiving the Holy Spirit to live a supernatural life. 4. With Jesus going away: Christians gained two advocates (intercessors): Advocate (Paraklete); one who pleads another’s cause, exhorts, comforts, prays for another. Intercessor“to make intercession”; originally “to strike upon,” or “against”, “to assail anyone with petitions,” “to urge,” and when on behalf of another, “to intercede”. The English word is derived from Latin intercedo, “to come between”
a. The Holy Spirit (advocate/ intercessor) John 14:16 New International Version (NIV)And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you foreverJohn 15:26 New International Version (NIV)“When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.
b. Jesus Christ (advocate/ intercessor)1 John 2:1 New International Version (NIV) My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
Romans 8:34 New International Version (NIV) Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
There is a lot more about the Holy Spirit in being our Helper.
He is also the seal of the promise of God in Christ Jesus. He makes sure all that ours in Christ Jesus is a done deal;
Ephesians 1:13-14 King James Version (KJV) 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
The Holy Spirit is not a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of sound-mind. When the Holy Spirit dwells in you, fear and such things that come with fear; weakness, hatred and unsound mind loses its grip. Old things are passed away all things have become new – a notable transformation takes place.
2 Timothy 1:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgement and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].
The Holy Spirit, Who is also often referred to as the Holy Ghost is the Helper we cannot do without as we can see from the scriptures above that the Holy Spirit is vitally important to any true Christian; without the acknowledgement of Holy Spirit and the receiving of His multifaceted help, a Christian will be very weak, or such a person is probably not a Christian in the first place or is basically practising false Christianity.
1 Corinthians 2:14 Amplified Bible (AMP) 14 But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters].
Romans 8:14-16 21st Century King James Version (KJ21) 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, “Abba! Father!”16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God;
Romans 8:14 King James Version (KJV) 14 For as many as are led (helped) by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
There are 3 questions I would like you to ask yourself and please be truthful in answering them:
1. Are you born again: Have you consciously accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord?
2. Are you baptised with the Holy Spirit with Evidence of Speaking in Tongues?
3. If you have answered “Yes” to number 1 and 2 questions; then answer me this: “are you using all your strength (helps + Helper)?” now that you are aware and have understanding you must go and become all that you can be in God in Christ Jesus.
It is true that “if you are not born-again” you cannot receive the true baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and there is no way you can have access to the Divine helps nor the Supernatural operations of The Helper (the Holy Spirit).
Do you want to be born-again? Then pray this prayer in all sincerity: Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I know that I’m a sinner and cannot save myself. But Jesus died for me, He shed His blood that I might be saved, today I accept Jesus as my personal Lord and saviour, forgive me all my sins, wash me with your blood and make me whole. I forsake the devil, the world and all sinful habits, I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Father I thank you because you have saved me in Jesus name. Amen.If you have said that prayer, I congratulate you “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”(Ephesians 2:8-9) and I want to encourage to please visit http://www.lifeoasisinternationalchurch.org to access very important resources for your growth and development in your new life in Christ Jesus.
