For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

“Sin wouldn’t be so attractive if the wages were paid immediately”. This statement is so true, considering that the wages of sin is death: the action or fact of dying or being killed; the end of the life of a person or organism. synonyms: demise, dying, end, passing, passing away, passing on, loss of life, expiry, expiration, departure from life, final exit, eternal rest; murder, killing, assassination, execution, dispatch, slaying, slaughter, massacre; informal snuffing, curtains, kicking the bucket; decease; rare quietus. However there’s a greater death when a man is seperated from God. Sin separates any man from God.
But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.

Apart from separating one from God let’s see other attributes of sin.
Attributes of Sin
1. Sin Assassinates.
No matter how hard you try to play it down as cool, sin is a deadly assassin and a sinful lifestyle mess you up badly. No matter how it presents you before the blurry view of the world as rich and famous, it is all a lie. Such a life does not come cheap, you are paying a pound of your soul for every corroding dime you get.
Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].

2. Sin Enslaves.
Do not be fooled into thinking that sin is simply an expression of freedom. The fact that you no longer have control over your body, soul or mind implies that something else has got your life…sin has got you on the leash.
3. Sin is Draining.
Sin turns its slave’s existence into an empty-bowel-of-a-life straining over a bottomless pit, trying hard to bring out meaningfulness out meaninglessness, and purposefulness out of hopelessness.
4. Sin has a Purpose
Sin exists for 3 main purposes:
1. To steal every precious thing
2. To kill the very essence of life
3. To destroy to the uttermost
And these purposes aim to create a life that has no depth, no truth and no substance for those who serve sin.
A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy.

5. “Sin is a thief”. Sin robs you of time, of life and peace of mind.
All who indulge in a sinful life are dangerously lawless, for sin is a major disruption of God’s order. Surely you know that Christ showed up in order to get rid of sin. There is no sin in him, and sin is not part of his program.

6. Sin is Just Wrong Plain and Simple.
Sin is a way that may have seemed right to the sinful, but on a closer look, it only leads to destruction.
“There’s a way that looks harmless enough; look again—it leads straight to hell”. Proverbs 16:25 MSG
There are many who have embarked on the path of sin because of the illusion of grandeur that it offers. And for many it is on the arrival at eternal damnation that they realise too late how naive they have been.
“The highway to hell is broad, and it’s gate is wide for the many who choose that way”.
Matthew 7:13b NLT
The Good News: “You can Be Freed From the Strong Grip of Sin”
I wouldn’t know if you are indulging in sin or maybe perchance sin has got a hold on you, but I have been sent to say to you with divine boldness and assurance that “there is a way out”. I am not just saying it, I know it. I was in sin and I got out clean, glory be to God!
But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. Will you wink at their treachery? Should you be silent while the wicked swallow up people more righteous than they?

As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?

It is true that God will never delight in nor put a stamp of approval on your sin; but neither is He messed up by your mess. In His amazing grace, His loving arms He extends towards you…if only you will let your repentance receive His forgiveness. In His unfailing love, He will pick you up from wherever you are to bring to where He is, lift you high to where He has prepared for you no matter how low you have gotten and clean you up really good no matter how dirty you are.

“Jesus is the way, the truth and the life”.
It is true that there is no other name given to man by which they can be saved but “Jesus”….there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].” (ACTS 4:12 AMP)
Salvation through Christ Jesus is free but you must make the decision to recieve it.
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NLT)
“…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. (Romans 10:9-10 KJV)
Do you desire to recieve Christ Jesus as your Saviour and Lord? Then I encourage you to Pray this prayer meaningfully: “Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept You out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear You knocking. By faith I gratefully receive Your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe You are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank You for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe Your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Saviour. Amen”.

Galatians 5:1 AMPC In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].
